IKEA Thailand reaffirms its commitment to creating a better everyday life for everyone while promoting warm family relationships and children's learning through play. The company launched its new collection SANDLÖPARE, a fun and educational collection inspired by the wildlife of the African savanna, inviting Thai families to unleash their imagination and enjoy plush toys, games, home essentials, and decorations that reflect the stories of wildlife and the wonders of nature. The aim is to create moments of happiness and bonding within families. During the launch event, IKEA was honored to have Mr. Panudech Kerdmali, President of the Seub Nakhasathien Foundation, share insights on wildlife conservation and natural resource management, along with discussions about the latest collaboration with IKEA. Celebrity family members Mr. Beam – Kavi Tanjararuk and Ms. Oi – Atiporn Jitthamwong also joined to share their experiences on the role of play in fostering family relationships and supporting children's development.

According to the IKEA Play Report 2024, for most families, “playing together” is the top priority for both parents and children, as it helps create smiles, laughter, and strengthens family bonds. The second most important aspect is “promoting children's imagination,” which is key to developing life skills such as creativity, problem-solving, and learning new things while creating warm memories together.

Ms. Leonie Hoskin, Retail Business Manager of IKEA Thailand and Vietnam, stated, “At IKEA, we believe that play is at the heart of learning and building family relationships. The SANDLÖPARE collection aims not only to connect family members and create happiness in daily life through play but also to raise awareness about the importance of wildlife conservation and natural resource management for children. Additionally, for every plush toy purchased, we will contribute 100 Baht to support wildlife conservation efforts through the Seub Nakhasathien Foundation. We want children and families to see the value of play that not only brings smiles and imagination but also positively impacts our world.”

In addition to promoting play, IKEA Thailand has partnered with the Seub Nakhasathien Foundation, an organization dedicated to wildlife and nature conservation. From October 1 to November 1, 2024, IKEA will donate 100 Baht for every SANDLÖPARE plush toy sold to support the mission of protecting large forests, wildlife habitats, biodiversity, and caring for endangered species. This collaboration reflects IKEA's mission of caring for people and the planet through ongoing partnerships with various foundations and communities.

Mr. Panudech Kerdmali, President of the Seub Nakhasathien Foundation, stated, “The decline of forest areas in Thailand currently directly impacts the balance of nature, leading to issues such as flooding, landslides, and threats to wildlife facing extinction. The Seub Nakhasathien Foundation operates under three main missions: protecting large forest areas, restoring important wildlife, and communicating to raise public awareness. The power of communication is crucial for conservation as it builds knowledge and understanding, leading to awareness and responsibility for the environment. The foundation hopes that in the future, wildlife issues in Thailand will receive the same attention and importance as they do now, as it is an opportunity for children or families from around the world to learn about our wildlife. Working with IKEA on the SANDLÖPARE collection is a source of support and encouragement for the committee and staff of the Seub Nakhasathien Foundation in their conservation efforts for Thai society.”

During the press conference for the launch of the SANDLÖPARE collection at IKEA Bangna, the event was graced by the beloved social media family Mr. Beam – Kavi Tanjararuk and Ms. Oi – Atiporn Jitthamwong, who shared their firsthand experiences of using ‘play’ as a tool to build family relationships, along with their four children Thir and Pir and Aiwa and Anya, who added vibrancy to the event. Mr. Beam and Ms. Oi discussed the importance of creating a playful atmosphere filled with imagination and laughter, which not only helps children develop communication skills, creativity, and problem-solving abilities but also allows everyone in the family to spend valuable and heartwarming time together.

IKEA believes that home is the best playground. The SANDLÖPARE collection is designed to create both happiness and safety for children. Every IKEA plush toy undergoes rigorous testing, including pull tests, chemical checks, durability assessments, and multiple washes to ensure they maintain their shape, do not easily detach, and are safe with embroidered eyes instead of beads. Additionally, IKEA offers a variety of products for living with children and organizing homes, from everyday essentials and developmental toys to furniture designed for safety and learning. Every design is created to provide comfort and moments of joy for everyone in the family.
