NBTC Strengthens Communication Law, Launches New Course to Tackle Digital Challenges
The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC), through its Institute of Technology, held an opening ceremony for the "Skill Development Course on the Enforcement of Laws Related to Broadcasting, Television, and Telecommunications". The ceremony was honored by the presence of Pol. Gen. Dr. Nattathorn Praosunthorn, NBTC's legal expert, who presided over the event at the Rembrandt Hotel, Sukhumvit 18, Bangkok.

The purpose of this course is to enhance the capabilities of executives involved in communication sectors from government agencies, private sectors, and the NBTC, equipping them with knowledge and understanding of communication law while exchanging legal perspectives to keep pace with the rapid changes in digital technology.

Pol. Gen. Dr. Nattathorn Praosunthorn stated, "Law is a crucial mechanism for regulating communication sectors, including broadcasting, television, and telecommunications. In an era where digital technology is rapidly evolving, laws must adapt accordingly to respond accurately and timely to new contexts. The NBTC recognizes the vital role of law in communication sectors and has organized this course for the first time, committed to enhancing the capabilities of executives from all sectors involved through knowledge development, skills enhancement, and fostering understanding to ensure effective law enforcement."

Mr. Nattachat Jintakarnon, Director of the Institute of Technology at the NBTC added, "For the completeness and maximum effectiveness of the course, the Institute has invited esteemed speakers and experts from various fields, including law, broadcasting, television, telecommunications, and digital technology, as well as specialists from academia and industry to share knowledge, exchange experiences, and convey important concepts related to the enforcement of communication laws. The training covers both theoretical and practical aspects, aiming for participants to apply the knowledge effectively in real work situations while also fostering a comprehensive vision for regulating communication sectors and creating networks for future collaboration."

Additionally, the training featured distinguished speakers, including Mr. Thana Thiarachariya, Chairman of Bluebik Group Public Company Limited, who participated in a discussion on “The Thai Economy in the Digital Era: The Role of Communication Sectors” to share insights with the participants.
On the other hand, Mr. Banchak Chumchaiwet, an economic news anchor at Channel 3 HD and Managing Director and Executive Editor of World Business Broadcast Co., Ltd., delivered a special lecture titled "Public Interest VS. Commercial Interest: How Should Thai Media Grow Under the NBTC Framework?" to communicate the direction in which media should develop within the legal context. The NBTC believes that this training will serve as an important mechanism to strengthen the enforcement of laws related to broadcasting, television, and telecommunications, leading to effective, transparent regulation of the country's communication sectors that keeps pace with changes in the digital era.
