Krung Thai Partners with MRT to Launch 'Mangmoom EMV Card' - One Card for MRT Payments and Shopping
Mr. Kachapon Udomthamphakdee, Governor of the Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRT), and Mr. Thawatchai Chivanont, Head of Product & Business Solutions at Krung Thai Bank Public Company Limited, jointly launched the 'Mangmoom EMV Card'.
This single card can be used to pay for MRT fares across all routes using EMV Contactless technology, covering the Purple, Blue, Pink, and Yellow lines, as well as the Red Line. Services will commence in August 2025, with the ability to tap and pay for the Airport Rail Link starting in October 2025.

The Mangmoom EMV Card is a result of collaboration between Krung Thai Bank and MRT, enhancing the MRT Plus card to allow seamless fare payments across different lines, reducing travel limitations that previously required separate cards for each line. This integration connects public transport systems with financial services seamlessly, reflecting MRT's mission to modernize public transport systems in line with the Mass Transit Ecosystem strategy, one of the bank's five core ecosystems aimed at improving the quality of life for citizens by linking transport infrastructure with financial services, ensuring convenient, fast, and safe access to services while promoting sustainable quality of life.

The Mangmoom EMV Card is user-friendly and supports the 20 Baht fare policy across all lines. Users can register for benefits through the designated government application. Interested individuals can apply for the card at ticket sales counters at all MRT Purple Line stations or easily register through the 'Paotang Pay' service on the 'Paotang' application without needing to verify identity or KYC again. The card can be obtained for a minimum fee of just 50 Baht, with no annual fees, and delivery is available nationwide.

Card sales will begin on August 1, 2025, and card management can be done through 'Paotang Pay' 24/7. The Mangmoom EMV Card is categorized into three types based on user groups to suit different rights and conditions:
- General Public (Adult): Aged 15 and above, pays the regular fare.
- Students: Aged 15 - 23, eligible for fare discounts.
- Seniors: Aged 60 and above, eligible for fare discounts.
The Mangmoom EMV Card not only supports the 20 Baht fare policy but also offers comprehensive value in one card, functioning as cash and providing numerous special privileges when used for payments at stores accepting VISA and Mastercard.

Krung Thai Bank also offers benefits through the campaign 'Tap and Go... No Hassle with the Mangmoom EMV Card', providing special privileges from leading partners such as GrabFood, LINE MAN, Lazada, Shopee, and many other top brands to accommodate the modern lifestyle that seamlessly connects travel and daily spending.
