At the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) building, Ms. Thapanee Kiatpaiboon, Governor of TAT, along with Mr. Klint Sarsin, Honorary Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce and the Federation of Thai Industries, and President of Thai Digital Platform Social Enterprise Co., Ltd., and Ms. Kattiya Indaravichai, CEO of Kasikorn Bank, jointly announced the launch of TAGTHAi Easy Pay, a new e-wallet system that works in conjunction with the Kasikorn Bank's Prepaid PAY&TOUR card. This initiative aims to enhance the experience of foreign tourists, allowing them to explore Thailand under the concept of 'Scan & Pay' Like a Local, ensuring safe and easy payments with Thai QR Payment for the first time in Thailand.

Ms. Thapanee Kiatpaiboon, Governor of TAT, stated that TAGTHAi Easy Pay is an e-wallet system developed to facilitate foreign tourists in making payments in Thailand more conveniently. By using it alongside the Kasikorn Bank's Prepaid PAY&TOUR card, tourists can pay like locals, reducing the hassle of currency exchange and the burden of carrying large amounts of cash. This marks another significant step in enhancing the Thai tourism experience to align with the behaviors of digital-age travelers.

This convenient and secure payment system is part of the initiative to support “Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism & Sports Year 2025,” which TAT is promoting throughout the year to stimulate travel and promote international tourism and sports activities. This will help the Thai tourism industry grow robustly and align with the revenue target of 3 trillion baht by 2025.

Mr. Klint Sarsin, Honorary Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce and the Federation of Thai Industries, and President of Thai Digital Platform Social Enterprise Co., Ltd., mentioned that in 2024, the TAGTHAi application has been downloaded by over 2 million tourists, both Thai and foreign, reflecting a growth of 105% and a sales increase of 183%. This indicates a strong trust in and trend towards using digital platforms for tourism, including information searches and purchasing goods and services by foreign tourists visiting Thailand. Therefore, providing the TAGTHAi Easy Pay e-wallet service in conjunction with the Kasikorn Bank's Prepaid PAY&TOUR card not only facilitates foreign tourists in making safer and more convenient payments but also helps distribute income to operators and vendors in the Thai tourism industry across major cities and tourist destinations. This is a crucial mechanism that strengthens the Thai tourism industry and benefits the overall economy of the country in the long term.

Ms. Kattiya Indaravichai, CEO of Kasikorn Bank, stated that the market for foreign tourists traveling to Thailand continues to grow. According to Kasikorn Research Center, it is projected that in 2025, the number of tourists will increase by another 5.6% from the previous year. In response to this trend, Kasikorn Bank recognizes the importance of a seamless payment system that is highly secure and facilitates foreign tourists in making payments more conveniently. Therefore, they have developed the Prepaid PAY&TOUR card, which can connect with the TAGTHAi Easy Pay e-wallet, allowing tourists to scan and pay at all stores across Thailand that support Thai QR Payment. The service has been trialed since 2024, enabling tourists to apply for the service at the Kasikorn Bank's foreign exchange booths at Suvarnabhumi Airport. This year, the bank plans to expand service points to over 100 branches nationwide to reach more tourists.
