This rapid expansion reflects the commitment and dedication of our global team, which strengthens our network, creates a new identity for our brands, and elevates our standards. Just two years ago, these were merely visions, but today they have become reality. There is nothing more rewarding than clarifying, strengthening, and inspiring our team through our brands."

Luxury is Consistency

Two years after Maud Bailly took the helm and unified Sofitel, Sofitel Legend, MGallery, and Emblems under a single direction, Accor's luxury flagship brands are entering a new era, with clear results from the rebranding aimed at creating clarity and consistency for each brand while elevating the global hotel network. Currently, 26% of Sofitel hotels are undergoing renovations, including major projects like Sofitel New York and Sofitel Montreal Golden Mile, expected to be completed in the fall of 2025. Additionally, renovated hotels such as Sofitel Athens, Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit, and Sofitel Sydney Wentworth have received excellent feedback.

Meanwhile, 8% of hotels in the MGallery Collection are undergoing renovations, with significant projects like Manly Pacific in Australia, which recently won the Prix de Versailles, and Grand Hôtel Roi Renée Aix-en-Provence in France, exemplifying the development of a hotel network that enhances global service standards.

This year also marks a significant growth phase, with 9 new hotels officially launched, each designed to reflect the identity of their destinations. A key highlight is the Sofitel Cotonou Marina Hotel & Spa, which opened on December 12, celebrated with the participation of the Benin government.

At the same time, the hotel group is experiencing rapid growth, with over 20 new hotel contracts signed in 2024, reinforcing the potential of all four brands to penetrate key markets such as Europe, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Egypt, as well as world-renowned tourist destinations like the Caribbean and the Mediterranean. Additionally, emerging markets like Mexico and India are seeing continuous investment growth.

"Since 2023, the number of deals has tripled, reflecting strong investment trends in our luxury brand portfolio, both core and collection brands. We have strengthened the Sofitel and MGallery hotel networks while expanding into key markets and resort destinations," said Xavier Grange, Chief Development Officer of Sofitel, Sofitel Legend, MGallery, and Emblems.

The trend of residence brands continues to grow, reinforcing brand strength in the global market. Notable examples include Sofitel Residences Downtown Dubai, set to open in 2026, and Sofitel Sapa Hotel & Branded Residences in Vietnam, featuring over 400 residential units. This model is also expanding into collection brands, such as Abraj Omar Hotel & Residences Makkah – MGallery Collection in Saudi Arabia, reflecting the increasing popularity in the luxury residential market worldwide.

Africa: A Continuously Growing Market

In the past year, Sofitel and MGallery have expanded their business in Africa through partnerships with local stakeholders and the launch of iconic hotels.

Sofitel and MGallery continue to expand their business in Africa, following the launch in Nairobi, with plans to expand to Comoros with Sofitel Moroni and new hotels planned in Madagascar and Egypt.
