This marks the first collaboration in Thailand between SB DESIGN SQUARE, a leader in Home Design Solutions, and the National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC) under the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), which has researched and developed the innovation “Smart Wardrobe Purifier”, an air-purifying wardrobe that helps reduce problems caused by mold, bacteria, and yeast that damage clothes, shoes, and bags, as well as pose long-term health risks related to the respiratory system.

Mr. Pidetch Chavaldit, Executive Director of SB Furniture Group, revealed that the company has a clear policy of collaborating with partner organizations both domestically and internationally to develop innovative furniture, taking into account consumer needs and modern lifestyle requirements comprehensively. The aim is to create differentiation and deliver new experiences in the furniture market by expanding collaborations with other organizations in various fields, such as smart technology to develop furniture that enhances comfort and meets the demands of the digital age, as well as sustainable and environmentally friendly materials.

To promote furniture production that minimizes environmental impact, Health & Well-being Design focuses on developing furniture that enhances user health. The company also sees opportunities to collaborate with international designers and researchers from leading institutions to achieve excellence in design and advanced functionality. Recently, they partnered with the National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC) to research and develop the innovation “Smart Wardrobe Purifier”.

Currently, SB Design Square is committed to developing innovative furniture that meets the needs of modern lifestyles while considering health, safety, and sustainability. They continuously study trends and consumer demands to present furniture suitable for daily use, such as Smart Furniture that integrates technology for added convenience, like automatic storage systems or furniture that can adapt its functionality. Additionally, they emphasize multi-functional design, such as beds with storage or sofas that can convert into beds, to meet the needs of those with limited living space. Beyond addressing functional needs, SB Design Square also prioritizes consumer health and safety by using safe and environmentally friendly materials, such as Green & Well-being Furniture, which utilizes non-toxic materials like E1 wood with low formaldehyde levels not exceeding 0.1 ppm, which is safe for health, odorless, and non-harmful to the respiratory system. E1 wood does not cause skin irritation for allergy sufferers or young children at home, making it suitable for all types of furniture production. Furthermore, they have integrated technology to reduce the accumulation of mold and bacteria by developing the Smart Wardrobe Purifier in collaboration with MTEC. In terms of sustainability, they have designed furniture using recycled materials or materials with minimal environmental impact, while also emphasizing durability to reduce the need for replacements, which not only saves consumer costs but also reduces long-term environmental impact. Mr. Pornpipat Yusa, Head of the Well-being Design Research Project Team at MTEC, discussed the insights leading to this collaboration, stating that they studied consumer problems faced in daily life, particularly regarding clothing care and health issues, such as mold, bacteria, and dust mites in wardrobes that damage clothes, bags, and shoes, causing musty odors and impacting consumer health, leading to allergies or long-term respiratory issues. The research team developed the AutoFlow PuriTech System, an air purification system used to design the Smart Wardrobe Purifier, which reflects care for consumers by adhering to the principles of 3C: Ultimate CLEAN, which helps maintain and extend the lifespan of items stored inside the wardrobe, such as clothes, bags, and shoes, allowing consumers to use these items longer. The AutoFlow PuriTech System is employed to purify the air within wardrobes and display cabinets to reduce the growth of mold, bacteria, and dust particles, achieving test results according to the standards of The Index of Microbial Air Contamination (IMA) at a very good level with an effectiveness of no less than 90%, helping to reduce long-term damage. Superior CARE is achieved when the AutoFlow PuriTech System is combined with the use of E1 standard wood (European Standard Class 1) from SB Design Square, which has been found to effectively reduce the occurrence of allergies from mold and dust mites caused by moisture in wardrobes, as it not only extends the lifespan of items within the wardrobe but also promotes long-term health. This innovation has passed tests at the VERY GOOD level (equivalent to cleanliness in hospitals according to Cleanroom cleanliness control standards: ISO14644), certified by the National Bio-Resource Bank at the National Center for Engineering and Biotechnology or BIOTECH. Finally, CREATE your design emphasizes not only cleanliness but also the aesthetics of furniture, allowing for the design of storage spaces and the creation of Walk-in Closets in desired styles with the Smart Wardrobe Purifier, which offers up to 12 functional options tailored to each customer’s lifestyle, with over 100 designs and 6 color shades available, perfectly aligning with current lifestyle trends such as Grey Gallery, Everyday White, Amazing Earth Tone, Beyond Black, Glamorous Glass, and Magic Mirror.

The Smart Wardrobe Purifier is user-friendly as it can be controlled via the Line OA SB Design Square of the purchased branch, where staff will register and install it. The Smart Wardrobe Purifier menu allows users to check the humidity status, temperature, and mold levels of the wardrobe. When air quality is normal, the AutoFlow PuriTech System operates automatically in Normal mode, and when humidity and dust levels exceed set values, the machine switches to Active Mode. Additionally, it offers 2 more operational modes: Boost mode, which accelerates the machine’s operation to purify the air within the wardrobe in just 2 minutes, and Sleep mode, where the system pauses operation for 8 hours. This innovation is specifically designed for our customers.
