Siam Sindhorn Group Partners with Wake Up Waste, a Professional Waste Management Startup from SCGC, Reinforcing Low-Carbon Real Estate for 10 Years of Sustainable Living
Siam Sindhorn Group is committed to an environmentally friendly business approach and a continuous path towards sustainability. They have partnered with Wake Up Waste, a platform for managing and trading recyclable waste, along with compression trucks to enhance waste management efficiency, from SCG Chemicals Public Company Limited (SCGC), the recipient of the Gold Award at the Marketing Award of Thailand 2023. This partnership underscores their leadership in the real estate sector, considering environmental, social, and community impacts for over 10 years.

Mr. Apichai Siridamrongpan, Managing Director of Siam Sindhorn Co., Ltd., stated that the sustainable development concept of Siam Sindhorn Group aligns with their vision to drive the real estate business alongside environmental consciousness and sustainable practices. They focus on energy conservation, effective waste management, selecting partners with similar environmental values, and fostering understanding to encourage new behaviors in resource use and proper management of waste materials for effective recycling and reuse.

Through the collaboration between Siam Sindhorn and the startup Wake Up Waste, along with compression trucks from SCGC, the process from waste generation to comprehensive recycling is being enhanced, starting with the Sindhorn Village project, which includes five condominium buildings: Sindhorn Residence, Sindhorn Tonson, Sindhorn Lumpini, The Residences at Sindhorn Kempinski Hotel Bangkok, and Baan Sindhorn; three five-star hotels: Sindhorn Kempinski Hotel Bangkok, Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok Hotel, and Sindhorn Midtown Hotel Bangkok, Vignette Collection; one office building: Sindhorn Offices; a community mall: Velaa Sindhorn Village Langsuan; and other businesses under Siam Sindhorn, including The Old Siam Plaza, Srijulsup Premium Midsize Office, Polo Football Park, and restaurants like Saneh Jaan and Café Eiffel.

“The issues faced by residents in condominiums, hotels, office buildings, shopping malls, restaurants, or buildings with high occupancy often include significant daily waste accumulation. This waste frequently lacks proper sorting and is often mixed together in one bag, leading to contamination and uncleanliness. Some waste ends up in rivers or seas, causing various forms of pollution,” said Mr. Apichai.
Wake Up Waste manages waste by recording data on the types of waste collected, their weight, and price to organize transportation using compression trucks equipped with compactors, delivering quality raw materials to specialized factories, whether SCG, SCGC partner factories, or external factories, resulting in higher price margins through a web application that ensures efficient, transparent, and data-driven waste collection and transportation to end factories, along with reports summarizing recyclable waste, carbon footprint reduction, and tree-planting equivalents, allowing sellers to understand their contributions to environmental preservation.

“Collaborating with Wake Up Waste promotes resource utilization efficiency, and once used, resources must be properly recycled. Effective management can significantly reduce environmental impacts, aligning with the principles of a circular economy focused on sustainable management,” Mr. Apichai stated.
This creative initiative for social activities and sustainable waste management is one of many efforts driven by Siam Sindhorn Co., Ltd., committed to developing high-standard real estate while considering the creation of quality communities through design, construction, and management processes that minimize environmental impacts and promote coexistence between urban life and nature.
“We are co-creating a better future for living, working, and leisure with excellent services and comprehensive facilities for a better living environment for everyone, emphasizing long-term value for future living,” Mr. Apichai concluded.
