Because happiness should not be confined to just home, let's come together to enrich our lives with activities designed for everyone to live well and maintain good health together.

Thanasiri Group (THANA) – Newton EM Medical Clinic and Physical Therapy is back to check the health of homeowners again at the event “Thanasiri Healthy Day” for the homeowners of Anabuki Thana Habitat, Mahajetsadabodinrasun-Ratchaphruek, allowing them to recheck their health and that of their family members, while also helping to reduce the risk of nearby health issues that can be troublesome.

Amidst the refreshing atmosphere on this beautiful day, a health caravan has curated special activities for health-conscious homeowners to stretch and exercise fully, led by a team of physical therapists and sports scientists from Newton EM, who came to conduct basic bone checks, assess physical condition, and evaluate overall posture, including the neck, shoulders, and back, while providing health care advice that could impact daily life.

During the health check for the homeowners, we moved on to the body assessment zone, where sports scientists from Newton EM provided guidance and advice on self-care. On that day, they spoke with Ms. Sujaree Saengpratum, who came with her family members, including her grandparents and her little granddaughter.

“Today, I brought my whole family for health checks. Upon arrival, I shared my symptoms with the doctor, and after a preliminary examination, I found that I had swelling in my neck area. The doctor mentioned that I might have cervical degeneration and recommended that I regularly exercise my neck with simple methods, such as clasping my hands behind my head and bending my head up and down, holding the stretch for 15-30 seconds for 10 repetitions per set, doing this every hour.”

As for my little granddaughter, who is only 7 years old, she shared that the doctor mentioned she might have scoliosis, but since she is still young, her behavior can be adjusted, and exercise can help. Starting with practicing sitting up straight, the focus should be on exercises like bar hanging and swimming to increase muscle flexibility and strengthen the core bones.

At the same time, Ms. Sujaree also brought her father and mother, whom she refers to as her grandparents, to join the health check. At over 80 years old, they are considered quite healthy, but the doctor expressed concern about their declining strength and taught them simple exercises to stretch and relieve tension at home.

“Taking care of health is beneficial for oneself. When there are health activities like this, it makes me want to participate so that I can take the advice from real health experts back to care for myself and my family.”

The physical therapy team from Newton EM Medical Clinic and Physical Therapy conducted body checks to assess the underlying causes of common pain and discomfort in the neck, shoulders, and back of the clients. They found that most issues stemmed from muscle and spinal structure problems of those experiencing such symptoms.

Ms. Thanyaporn Phainok, one of the assistant physical therapists from Newton EM, along with Ms. Pimrak Sinsomboontong, a consultant and co-founder of Newton EM, discussed the case of Ms. Sujaree's 7-year-old granddaughter, who has scoliosis. They began with a physical examination and adjustments to her daily habits, scheduling follow-ups every 6 months to monitor her development and adjust her exercise regimen according to her growth.

“By adding new exercises to check the degree of curvature of the spine, they also recommended using a wheeled bag instead of carrying a backpack and adjusting her sitting posture to be straight. Additionally, the cause of the symptoms may stem from congenital structural issues, and if behaviors and structures are adjusted positively, the physical therapy team will focus on training the body with personalized exercises with care and attention to the patient's needs, ensuring that the child receives effective and appropriate treatment for complete recovery, allowing them to return to their daily activities normally.”

Good health cannot be bought, but it can be created by oneself. We hope everyone will join us in taking care of their health together. Healthy body, peaceful mind, Thanasiri... we care.
