“The government places great importance on personal data protection. I have set guidelines and measures to enhance the country's personal data protection, directing the PDPC to operate proactively and establish the PDPC Eagle Eye monitoring center to oversee compliance with PDPA laws by both public and private entities. We aim to prevent the inappropriate dissemination of personal data in public channels. If violations are found repeatedly and have severe impacts, strict penalties will be enforced under the PDPA. In the past two months, we have proactively investigated over 5,000 cases of personal data leaks and have collaborated in apprehending five individuals involved in the illegal trade of personal data,” Mr. Prasert concluded.
