National Housing Authority Collaborates with CP ALL and PAT to Develop Skills for Youth in Communities
Mr. Warawut Silpa-archa, Minister of Social Development and Human Security, presided over the signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding for educational collaboration aimed at developing children and youth in the communities of the National Housing Authority. This agreement was made between the National Housing Authority, CP ALL Public Company Limited, and Panyapiwat Technological College. Mr. Piyawat Thitasathawarakul, Vice Chairman of the Executive Board of CP ALL, discussed the collaboration among the three organizations, alongside Mr. Taweepong Wichaidit, Governor of the National Housing Authority, and Mr. Wichian Niamnom, representative of the licensee/Director of Panyapiwat Technological College, who also signed the memorandum. Witnesses included Mr. Dulmanchai Wiwatbovorn, Assistant Governor of the National Housing Authority, and Mr. Tomorn Chantra, General Manager of CP ALL, along with executives and relevant staff attending the signing ceremony on December 25, 2023, at the 3rd floor meeting room of Building 5, National Housing Authority Headquarters.

Mr. Taweepong Wichaidit, Governor of the National Housing Authority, stated that the National Housing Authority is a state enterprise under the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, tasked with developing housing for the public, especially for low to middle-income individuals and vulnerable households, ensuring they have access to standard housing at affordable prices. This is coupled with promoting community strength in economic, social, and environmental aspects, in line with the vision of "Building Homes, Creating Happiness for a Better Quality of Life." Additionally, the authority has implemented the Smart and Sustainable Community (SSC) project under the BCG economic model, aligning with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations and the 20-Year National Strategy (2018-2038). The SSC project is conducted in collaboration with both public and private sector partners, covering four dimensions: 1) Participation and Responsibility, 2) Ecosystem Security, 3) Economic Security, and 4) Social Well-being. The signing of this agreement aligns with the third dimension, Economic Security, focusing on providing knowledge and supporting skill development to create sustainable income opportunities for youth, the elderly, and persons with disabilities.

The Governor further explained that the educational collaboration for developing children and youth in the communities of the National Housing Authority involves the authority considering eligible children and youth for scholarships at the vocational level at Panyapiwat Technological College in retail business and modern retail business fields. CP ALL provides scholarships to qualified youth, along with allowances and other benefits during their practical training in locations provided by the company. Panyapiwat Technological College will support the education of youth through a dual education system, combining theoretical learning with practical work at 7-Eleven stores until graduation. During practical training, youth will learn the basics of retail operations, including cleaning sales areas and products, arranging merchandise, working as sales staff and cashiers, managing financial accounts, ordering products, and promoting sales. Upon graduation, CP ALL will employ qualified youth who meet the company's educational requirements.

“I would like to thank CP ALL and Panyapiwat Technological College for recognizing the importance of providing educational opportunities for children and youth in the communities of the National Housing Authority, allowing them to learn practical skills through real work experiences. This will lead to increased responsibility for themselves and their families, an understanding of the value of money earned through work, and improved financial discipline. Furthermore, they can apply retail business concepts to further their learning towards becoming social entrepreneurs, in line with the policy of Mr. Warawut Silpa-archa, Minister of Social Development and Human Security,” he concluded.
