Mr. Weerapun added, "SCG is a business partner committed to sustainability, with expertise in SCG Packaging, SCG Chemicals, and SCG Cement Building. This collaboration demonstrates our potential to grow together in product sustainability and technology development, creating innovations from plastic waste in the recycling road project and creative recycled products, paving the way for a sustainable economy under the Circular Economy concept, while jointly pushing for the country's Net Zero goal by 2050."
The Circular Project begins with collecting old, unused products or equipment, conducting R&D to develop environmentally friendly products, involving all stakeholders from customers to external agencies and within the organization. The collected materials will be developed into environmentally conscious products following the principles of Reduce (minimizing material or chemical use), Reuse (reusing), Recycled (using recycled materials), and making products biodegradable. Examples include:
- Shopping Bags made from PP plastic containing 30% PCR (Post Consumer Recycled) plastic from transport straps to reduce plastic waste that could end up in landfills.
- Stacko Boxes containing 30% PCR plastic from defective electrical appliances collected through the Trade Old for a New World project, reducing the use of virgin plastic in production, directly helping to conserve resources and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
- Trash Bags containing 30% PCR plastic from LLDPE stretch film used for securing products during transport, repurposed into trash bags that maintain strength and durability without odor compared to regular trash bags.
- TARA Tiles made from recycled old sanitary ware to avoid landfill disposal, transforming old sanitary ware from the Trade Old for a New World project into modern-designed tiles with comparable properties to regular tiles.

Mr. Chatree Eamsopana, Chief Financial Officer of SCG Chemicals stated, "SCG operates under the ESG 4 Plus strategy, aiming for Net Zero – Go Green – Lean – Inclusive – Collaborative, adhering to principles of trust and transparency, with a target for net greenhouse gas emissions to reach zero by 2050. We are also focused on developing innovations and solutions that respond to global megatrends, ensuring customer convenience, safety, value, and environmental friendliness, while maximizing resource use throughout the value chain from production to usage and back into the production process as new raw materials, following the Circular Economy principles. SCG is also expanding the Circular Economy concept by driving sustainability in collaboration with partners like HomePro to bring waste back to create maximum value and reduce the use of natural resources by sorting materials from old products at HomePro for reuse in accordance with Circular Economy principles, such as recycling cardboard boxes into gift boxes or cat houses, recycling old sanitary ware into ceramic tiles, and upcycling plastic pellets into shopping bags and various plastic boxes, which are now available for sale to eco-conscious attendees at this HomePro Expo event."

“This collaboration is part of HomePro's core mission towards sustainability, aiming for a Net Zero target by 2050. This is a significant step that aligns with our organizational commitment to 'We Make a Better Living,' reinforcing our leadership in the Home Solution and Living Experience business, creating a better quality of life for society and communities in Thailand and Southeast Asia sustainably,” Mr. Weerapun concluded.
