Alpha Partners with SCG HOME to Open Main Distribution Center at Alpha Rangsit to Enhance Nationwide Delivery Efficiency
“Alpha Industrial Solutions” is advancing its 5-year strategic plan by launching a warehouse in the prime location of “Alpha Rangsit,” emphasizing its strategic position for transporting goods to urban areas, the North, and the Northeast. This initiative addresses the demand for the distribution of consumer goods, reinforcing the vision of Complete Your Solutions in a high-potential area. In collaboration with “SCG HOME,” a national distribution center is being established, equipped with a comprehensive warehouse system for storing and distributing construction materials and decorative products, aimed at improving delivery efficiency to SCG HOME's 33 branches and customers nationwide.
Mr. Pathan Sombunrasin, CEO of Alpha Industrial Solutions Co., Ltd. or ALPHA, a developer of industrial real estate with comprehensive services, under a joint venture between Origin Property Public Company Limited (ORI) and SCG JWD Logistics Public Company Limited (SCGJWD), revealed that the 5-year strategic plan focuses on developing logistics warehouses across the country, covering a total area of 1 million square meters. The company’s warehouse projects are continuously being completed, with the latest being the Alpha Rangsit warehouse, developed in partnership with Tokyu Land Asia Co., Ltd., a major real estate partner from Japan, which has been completed and is now operational for built-to-suit warehouses, with revenue expected to be recognized for the first time in Q3/2023.
“Rangsit is a strategic location for transporting goods across various industries, including general manufacturing, electronics, e-commerce, automotive parts, construction materials, retail, consumer goods, and health products, connecting to urban areas as well as the North and Northeast. Therefore, we chose to develop the project in this high-potential area, designing Alpha Rangsit to offer comprehensive solutions and functions that meet the needs of these industries, facilitating the management of warehouses to distribute products to end users efficiently and effectively while ensuring the safety and comfort of warehouse employees, in line with our vision of Complete Your Solutions, fulfilling our clients' warehouse solutions in every potential location,” Mr. Pathan stated.
Mr. Than Jitapanakul, Chief Operating Officer of Alpha Industrial Solutions Co., Ltd. or ALPHA, mentioned that the Alpha Rangsit project is located along a major road on Phaholyothin Road, Km 33, covering over 87,000 square meters, with approximately 56,000 square meters available for rent. This includes 62% built-to-suit warehouses and 38% ready-built warehouses, designed with innovations that consider the logistics operations of clients, such as three-sided opening doors, floor loading designed to support weights of up to 5 tons per square meter, and office space designed to create a pleasant working atmosphere in a three-story office. Currently, the built-to-suit section is fully leased, and ready-built warehouses are available for businesses and industries seeking immediate-use warehouse solutions.
“In addition to basic solutions, we also work closely with clients who want to create built-to-suit warehouses to provide solutions that fully meet their logistics operations. For instance, at the Alpha Rangsit project, we collaborated closely with SCG HOME, which has leased 22,000 square meters of built-to-suit warehouse space, designing solutions according to their needs, such as implementing a Very Narrow Aisle (VNA) racking system to maximize vertical storage while ensuring easy access to shelves,” Mr. Than explained.

Mr. Parames Nisa-Kornsen, Senior Assistant Manager of Distribution and Retail for Cement and Construction Products at SCG and Managing Director of SCG Home Retail Co., Ltd., stated that SCG HOME operates retail stores selling construction materials, home decoration products, hardware, and DIY items that cover all needs for home building. Currently, there are a total of 33 branches to meet the growing demand for construction, renovation, and home decoration, prompting SCG HOME to seek suitable locations for warehouses and distribution centers that can efficiently support product distribution nationwide.
“As the number of branches increases, the key to our success is having efficient warehouses and distribution centers in suitable strategic locations, as this will enable products to reach consumers quickly in all regions. Importantly, the solutions must accommodate our diverse product weights and sizes. Alpha Rangsit is a suitable location that can develop solutions to meet our needs, which is why we decided to establish our National Distribution Center here,” Mr. Parames said.

Mr. Sitthisak Tayanuwat, a director at SCG Home Retail Co., Ltd., mentioned that they have closely collaborated with the Alpha team to develop this distribution center, which must accommodate systems that SCG HOME has introduced, such as the Automated Storage/Retrieval System (AS/RS). The Alpha team has successfully prepared the basic solutions and functions, capable of storing more than 32,000 pallets, supporting product transportation to various branches, and accommodating future branch expansions.
“The products to be shipped from this center include roofing and construction materials, tiles, sanitary ware, bathroom and kitchen products, as well as hardware and household items, which will be distributed to branch stores and serve as the last-mile transportation point to consumers. Additionally, it will serve as a self-pickup service point (Click & Collect) for orders placed through www.scghome.com or the SCG Home Application,” Mr. Sitthisak added.
