AP Thailand Kicks Off First Day of AP OPEN HOUSE Internship Program: Striving for Excellence
AP Thailand Public Company Limited, a leader in the country's real estate development sector, under the promise of "A Good Life You Can Choose," welcomed 40 students from various faculties, including the College of Innovation, Humanities, Sociology and Anthropology, Business Administration, Architecture, and Engineering from leading universities across the country, into the intensive internship program AP OPEN HOUSE 2023: Real Life Beyond Theory. This program, now in its 8th year, is the dream internship for the best students in the country, designed to provide in-depth, hands-on experience in real estate development through on-the-job training, along with the opportunity to represent the company in a study tour to Japan. The first day of the program was held at the AP Academy Lab, a comprehensive learning design lab for real estate, located at Lake Ratchada.
Ms. Thipwan Sirikun, Assistant Director of Human Resources at AP Thailand, stated, "AP OPEN HOUSE is one of AP's CSR activities aimed at supporting everyone to have a good life they can choose through sharing specialized knowledge to create opportunities for students. Continuing into its 8th year, we are committed to developing the program to be effective, promoting limitless learning that keeps pace with the rapidly changing modern world. It is gratifying that this year, we received more applications than ever, with over 3,000 students from 50 universities nationwide, and we selected 40 outstanding candidates to join our quality internship program. Participants will gain real-world experience and challenge themselves by learning what it truly means to be a real estate developer, divided into two core courses: CIVIL ENGINEERING and DESIGN FOR LIVING, focusing on product and service design and innovation in the context of real estate. They will learn through hands-on experience over two months (June - July 2023) with expert coaches providing close guidance. After completing the internship, only four students will be selected for a study tour to Japan with Mitsubishi Estate, AP's partner, at no cost throughout the program."
"This year, in addition to learning through hands-on experience under the concept of real life beyond theory, students will also learn about housing design under the concept of Inclusive Living, which is a principle of designing housing for everyone, especially for those with disabilities. Students will have the opportunity to gain insights into the housing needs of everyone, including those with hearing, mobility, and visual impairments. The focus will be on learning the core aspects of real estate development in two dimensions: thinking skills, where students will learn through the Design Thinking process to apply in their work and problem-solving, and in-depth learning in real estate project development, including the BIM (Building Information Modelling) system, an innovative design and construction method that AP has pioneered in the country, as well as engineering work and product and service design in the context of real estate. Following this, they will engage in hands-on practice through various challenges designed by AP to hone their skills. Finally, everyone will collaborate on a Final Project, a significant challenge that tests everyone's skills: designing housing for everyone to have a good life they can choose." Ms. Thipwan added.
AP OPEN HOUSE is an internship program developed by AP Thailand Public Company Limited, first launched in 2015, to provide students with the opportunity to train and learn about real work processes, aiming to enable them to apply their knowledge and theory in real-world settings while learning to work collaboratively with others. Upon completion of the program, students will receive a certificate from AP Academy as well as a certificate for the original course (Design Thinking) from Stanford University, the world's number one university in innovation. Additionally, four students with outstanding internship performance will have the opportunity to study in Japan with Mitsubishi Estate Residence (a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Estate Group), a leader in comprehensive real estate development in Japan and a business partner of AP, to learn about work beyond what they have learned from experts in Thailand.
