Krung Thai Bank collaborates with the Comptroller General's Department to enhance the service for direct payment rights for civil servant healthcare benefits and medical payment services through the health wallet on the Pao Tang application, allowing real-time verification and direct payment, connecting over 1,300 hospitals nationwide through Application Programming Interface (API), with a pilot program at 6 hospitals in 2022. This aims to provide convenience and speed for eligible individuals and their families, reduce procedures, alleviate congestion in hospitals, and elevate the welfare and healthcare services for eligible individuals and their families.

Ms. Kulaya Tantitemit, Director-General of the Comptroller General's Department stated that enhancing the service capability of the direct payment system for civil servant outpatient healthcare benefits is crucial. Therefore, we have partnered with Krung Thai Bank to develop the direct payment system to facilitate transactions through the health wallet on the Pao Tang application. This collaboration aligns with the healthcare and health plan, which is one of the five main ecosystems of the bank. Together with the Comptroller General's Department and participating hospitals, we aim to elevate public health services for civil servants in the country, connecting data to enable real-time access to direct payment rights for civil servant healthcare benefits through the health wallet on the Pao Tang application, which is a Thailand Open Digital Platform developed by Infinity by Krung Thai to support eligible individuals in the direct payment system for civil servant healthcare benefits under the Comptroller General's Department, including current civil servants, retirees, and their families, totaling over 4.7 million people nationwide. An electronic identity verification system (e-KYC) will also be utilized to assist in confirming the identity of eligible individuals and their families to enhance convenience, speed, and accuracy.

Eligible individuals can use their direct payment rights for civil servant outpatient healthcare benefits independently without presenting their ID cards, increasing the accessibility of rights from previously relying solely on ID cards for direct payment through EDC machines. They can also immediately pay for any excess medical costs, choosing to pay via Krungthai NEXT or scanning QR Payment through mobile banking of any bank. There are plans to expand payment options through debit and credit cards in the future, which will facilitate a more convenient and faster direct payment process for eligible individuals and their families, reducing procedures and alleviating congestion in hospitals. Additionally, users will benefit from appointment reminder notifications for their next visit and can review past medical expenses through the transaction history menu in the health wallet on the Pao Tang application.
