SCG highlights the importance of air quality that Thai people should receive, introducing the SCG Bi-ion air purification system that helps create cleaner and safer air. This initiative aims to contribute to delivering good air quality to the Thai population, catering to the lifestyle of urban dwellers, over 90% of whom live indoors.

Mr. Wachirachai Koonamwattana, Head of Service Solution Business at SCG, stated, "SCG understands the air quality issues that all Thai people are currently facing, especially indoor air that may not meet standards and is contaminated with various pathogens, including bacteria and viruses. To raise awareness that air is the most crucial element reflecting quality of life, we are driving the creation of clean and safe air standards through the 'Clean Air Matters' campaign. This has led to various initiatives, such as the 'Life and Breath Monument' sculpture made from over 68,728 non-standard face masks, equivalent to the number of Thais who died from respiratory diseases between 2020 and 2022. Continuing the campaign, we introduced the 'SCG Bi-ion AIRBULANCE,' a vehicle equipped with the SCG Bi-ion air purification system, creating air inside the vehicle as clean and safe as that found in the heart of a forest, providing a mobile clean air experience in various areas of Bangkok. Most recently, we released the documentary 'Life and Breath' to emphasize the importance of air for everyone, especially for nurses who play a critical role on the front lines facing the risks of the COVID-19 pandemic."

The documentary 'Life and Breath' shares the real experiences of nurses at Saraburi Hospital regarding the crisis, risks, and feelings of those directly affected by COVID-19. Statistics from the Department of Disease Control in 2021 revealed that 880 healthcare workers contracted COVID-19. The impact not only hindered staff from performing their duties fully due to quarantine measures but also caused stress and fatigue among those caring for patients continuously. Additionally, there are risks for family members living together, who may contract the virus from their relatives.

The installation of the SCG Bi-ion system in the male internal medicine department on floors 1-3, the emergency room, and the modular ICU is part of efforts to reduce the risk of pathogen spread and ensure clean and safe air in these areas. The SCG Bi-ion system releases ion charges to help eliminate airborne pathogens, allowing staff to perform their duties with greater confidence. Besides Saraburi Hospital, SCG Bi-ion has also been installed in various important locations, including:

• Healthcare facilities such as Chulabhorn Hospital, Siriraj Hospital (Atsadang Building – ICU project), Rajavithi Hospital, Rajpipat Hospital, Chulalongkorn Hospital, Apai Phubej Hospital, Nakhon Pathom Hospital (autopsy room), and Bangkok Pharmacy (101 branches), among others.

• Educational institutions such as St. Dominic School, Vajiravudh College, Amnuay Silpa School, Plearnpattana School, Kasetsart University Demonstration School, and Bangkok University, among others.

• Office buildings such as SCG Bangsue Office, Abdulrahim Building, KLOUD by Kbank @ Siamsquare, SCB Headquarters, Bloomberg Bangkok Office, Government Pharmaceutical Organization (Pathum Thani), UNICEF Office, and Bangkok City Tower, among others.

Watch the documentary 'Life and Breath' on Friday, September 30, 2022, on the SCG Brand Facebook Fanpage and YouTube.
