Project Highlights
- Strict quality control and air testing within the building to ensure air quality remains high even with prolonged use.
- Increased lighting for outdoor areas and all entrances, enhancing safety and facilitating pedestrian use of the streets at night, while also reducing opportunities for crime.
- Large recreational spaces and outdoor amenities foster an environment conducive to physical activities and increased time spent outdoors, promoting social interaction and improving the physical and mental health of building users.
The Fitwel standard is an international standard for healthy buildings, established by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and operated by the Center for Active Design (CfAD). It aims to create healthy environments for users and surrounding communities to prevent the spread of communicable and non-communicable diseases, which are leading causes of illness and death worldwide. This impacts not only individual health but also economic factors such as reduced work efficiency and healthcare costs within organizations. The Fitwel standard can be certified for various types of buildings.
