It Begins! 'Architect'65' Elevates the Event to International Standards Through the 'Thematic Pavilion' Exhibition Space, Stimulating the Thai Economy in the Second Half of the Year - Supporting Over 20 Billion Baht in Economic Flow After the Event
The Association of Siamese Architects under the Royal Patronage and TTF International Co., Ltd., along with over 500 exhibitors, have jointly launched the 'Architect'65' (Architect'22) event under the theme 'CO-WITH CREATORS: Interdependence'. This event showcases collaborative works between architects and creators from various professions across the country for the first time! Featuring a special exhibition space called 'Thematic Pavilion', designed collaboratively by 'new-generation designers x construction material suppliers', along with a plethora of innovative construction products. Join us at the event from April 26 to May 1, 2022, at Challenger Hall, Impact Muang Thong Thani.
Mr. Chana Sampalang, President of the Association of Siamese Architects under the Royal Patronage, who presided over the opening ceremony of 'Architect'65' (Architect'22), revealed that the organization of this event is one of the annual missions of the Association, marking its 34th year under the concept 'CO-WITH CREATORS: Interdependence'. This year, for the first time, there are three presidents from three regions, showcasing a new collaborative process that reflects the 'interdependence' concept of architects across Thailand, aiming to create designs on par with international standards and drive the event to play a significant role in supporting the design and construction industry in Thailand, as well as aiding in the recovery of the Thai economy during the COVID era through creativity, learning, and mutual reliance among architects and creators from various fields, leading to cross-culture and cross-function collaborations.
Mr. Pongpol Yuttharat, Chairman of the Architect'65 event, representing architects from the Northeast, stated that the theme of 'interdependence' was chosen because of the increasing interest in 'co-creation' among people from different professions, such as collaboration between architects and landscape architects, artists, lighting designers, fashion designers, photographers, or other related designers, resulting in architectural works that reflect diverse perspectives from different ideas. Furthermore, Architect'65 serves as a platform for questioning and seeking answers about the interdependence between architects and creators from other fields to leverage each other's potential, making this year's event a significant turning point and providing a unique experience for attendees.
Mr. Isara Aree-rap, Chairman of the Architect'65 event, representing architects from the North, mentioned that the Association's exhibition space will focus on presenting stories, thought processes, and principles of collaboration between architects and creators, featuring significant exhibitions and activities, including: 'CO-WITH COVID Exhibition', a pavilion that presents options for moving towards a stable new normal amidst the ongoing pandemic; 'Professional Collaboration Exhibition', showcasing ideas and collaborations between architects and creators from across the country, with 12 pairs exhibiting at Architect'65, featuring models, conceptual photographs, and video media; 'Local Innovation Exhibition', or 'CO-Breathing House', designed with various rooms using walls that blend with local materials and engage human senses through visuals, sounds, and touch. Additionally, there will be 'Architectural Works Exhibition by ASA Members' and 'Delineation of Architectural Masters Exhibition', which originated from the ASA Talk Series project, among others.
The academic exhibitions will include 'ASA Architectural Design Student Workshop'22 Exhibition', showcasing works from students of architecture from various educational institutions across the country, and 'ASA Experimental Design Competition Exhibition', displaying works from an international design competition open to association members and the general public to submit their design concepts under the specified theme.
Mr. Rajit Raden Ahmad, Chairman of the Architect'65 event, representing architects from the South, stated that the Association has also prepared exhibition spaces for professional and academic exhibitions, including 'Outstanding Architectural Award Exhibition and Architectural Conservation Award Exhibition for 2022'; 'Exhibition Honoring Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn'; and 'Public Sector and Other Organizations Design Competition Exhibition'. Additionally, there will be activity spaces and other services, such as 'ASA House Clinic', offering consultation on design and construction; 'ASA Shop', selling books and souvenirs from the association and academic publications; 'ASA Club', a meeting point and relaxation area for ASA members; 'Central Activity Area', hosting various activities such as discussions, music, and workshop demonstrations; 'ASA Night 2022', a traditional gathering for ASA members from all generations and institutions; and finally, academic seminars including 'ASA International Forum 2022' and 'ASA Seminar 2022', with part of the seminar being a hybrid format allowing participation both on-site and online.
Mr. Supaman Makha, Deputy Managing Director of TTF International Co., Ltd., as the event organizer, stated that although the Thai economy is currently facing several challenging factors, including the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and rising production costs, the overall design, architecture, real estate, and construction product industries are beginning to show positive trends due to the collaboration of all sectors to drive the Thai economy forward. This is reflected in the participation of over 500 exhibitors from Thailand and abroad at Architect'65, filling the 50,000 square meters of exhibition space, with foreign companies accounting for 5% of the exhibitors, including Italy, Germany, France, Japan, China, Singapore, India, Malaysia, etc. The positive response this time will undoubtedly reflect the growth of the Thai economy, with an expected attendance of 300,000 visitors over the six days and an economic flow of over 20 billion baht after the event.

Each exhibitor will present innovations and construction product technologies that align with the lifestyles of modern people, such as innovations for hygiene and the environment, including 'SEE JORAKAY', the only paint in Thailand with outstanding properties for absorbing carbon dioxide; 'VIRUTECT', a laminate surface that can eliminate and inhibit the growth of viruses and bacteria by up to 99% within 8 hours; 'Lemilliur', antibacterial and antiviral wallpaper; and 'TOA Organic Care', the first and only paint in Thailand made from natural ingredients, replacing petroleum-based materials.

Design innovations include 'DOS', a dual water tank with a pump that won the Good Design Award from Japan and the Denmark Design Award; 'COWAY', the number one water purifier from South Korea, with numerous global awards including the CES Innovation Award, IF Design Award, Red Dot Design Award, and Good Design Award, among others.

Many leading brands will also participate in the event, such as SCG Cement – Construction Products Co., Ltd., presenting products under the concept 'SCG for Smart Living, Smart City', showcasing innovations for living in homes, buildings, and construction technologies from SCG that will help create a better quality of life today and in the future, along with the highlight exhibition 'Dwell Well', showcasing innovations that address current living needs and contribute to creating more livable cities in the future through various perspectives, including Smart Construction, Energy Saving & Comfort Living, Convenience & Hygiene, Health & Wellness, and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance).
Among the highlights that will add vibrancy and should not be missed at Architect'65 is the presentation of the special exhibition space 'Thematic Pavilion', a first for this event, showcasing collaboration between 'new-generation designers x construction material suppliers' to present designs using products from exhibitors, creating works that are comparable to global designs, aiming to provide a unique experience unlike any other year for designers, creators, exhibitors, and attendees, while elevating the event to international standards.
For example, Booth TP01 features a collaborative creation between VG x PHTAA, presenting a Thai-style house with a raised floor using rainwater drainage and vinyl roofing; Booth TP02 features TOA x ARiA Design Architects, showcasing the potential of materials that promote sustainable design through unique form and visual impact; Booth TP07 features EDL x Sher Maker, presenting a design that invites new perspectives on material use through an experiential enclosed space; and Booth TP08 features WDC x ACa, addressing design concepts for living spaces through various tile materials. In addition to enjoying new creative ideas within the Thematic Pavilion, attendees will also have the opportunity to vote for their favorite Thematic Pavilion work to determine the winner of the Thematic Pavilion of the Year 2022 award.
All of this is what attendees can experience and access at 'Architect'65', the largest architecture and construction technology exhibition in ASEAN, taking place from April 26 to May 1, 2022, from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM at Challenger Hall, Impact Muang Thong Thani.
