Krung Thai Bank responds to the Bank of Thailand's call to expedite assistance for customers affected by the new wave of COVID-19, launching sustainable debt resolution measures. These include debt repayment holidays, interest rate reductions, principal reductions, debt type changes, and other measures aimed at alleviating the financial burden on business customers and individual clients impacted by the economic crisis.

Mr. Ekachai Techawiriyakul, Deputy Managing Director of Krung Thai Bank, stated that as a state commercial bank, Krung Thai Bank recognizes the widespread economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The bank sees an urgent need to assist all customer groups and has therefore introduced special measures for business and individual clients affected by the economic crisis, who are facing liquidity issues, seeking to reduce expenses, and manage their debts systematically. This aims to improve the debt structure for affected borrowers sustainably in the long term, in line with the bank's assessment of their repayment capacity. The assistance framework aligns with additional measures to promote sustainable support for borrowers impacted by COVID-19.

For this special measure, the bank will consider providing assistance to customers that includes reducing interest rates, lowering installment payments through a Step Up plan, granting debt repayment holidays while only paying interest, changing debt types, converting revolving loans to term loans, and offering flexible repayment plans. Other measures may include restructuring debt through asset transfers, converting debt to equity, increasing liquidity, or extending repayment periods. Each customer's situation will be assessed based on the bank's criteria, and the bank will propose debt restructuring solutions that align with the customer's repayment capacity and risk profile. Customers interested in participating in the sustainable debt resolution measures are encouraged to reach out.
