Dyson has launched its first cordless vacuum cleaner featuring laser detection technology that reveals hidden dust in your home!

The most compact and powerful cordless vacuum from Dyson can detect, vacuum, and automatically adjust modes, while also counting dust particles with a microscope to demonstrate deep cleaning.

  • Laser dust detection reveals particles invisible to the naked eye. A green laser is installed in the Fluffy cleaning head for precise dust detection.
  • The Acoustic Dust Sensing technology ensures thorough cleaning. The LCD screen displays the size and number of particles, providing scientific proof of real-time cleaning by counting and measuring dust particles with a microscope. Additionally, the piezo sensor automatically adjusts suction power and changes modes based on different floor types and dust amounts.
  • The new anti-tangle hair screw cleaning head quickly vacuums up fallen hair from various areas. The conical brush bar prevents hair from tangling, easily sucking hair into the dust bin, making it an impressive cleaning solution for small spaces.

The Dyson V12 Detect Slim cordless vacuum features Dyson's first laser technology installed on the cleaning head to reveal hidden dust.

Creating a healthy and hygienic home environment has become easier. Today, Dyson has launched the new cordless vacuum, the Dyson V12 Detect Slim, designed to detect hidden dust in your home, as small as 10 microns. With the installation of Piezo sensors, the vacuum can scientifically prove and show what has been sucked in.

This latest vacuum has been developed by a team of over 370 engineers worldwide, powered by the Dyson Hyperdymium motor, capable of generating suction power of up to 150 watts. Additionally, the 5-stage filtration system captures dust particles as small as 0.3 microns with up to 99.99% efficiency for deep cleaning. The Dyson V12 Detect Slim is a great aid in creating a healthy and hygienic home, especially now when over 60% of people are cleaning their homes more frequently than ever.

“As engineers, our job is to find solutions to everyday problems we encounter. Over the past 12 months, we have faced many new challenges as we have spent more time at home,” said James Dyson, Chief Engineer and Founder. “Many of us have become more conscious about cleaning, trying to eliminate dust and keep our homes clean, but we cannot be sure that our homes are truly clean.”

The laser technology developed for our latest vacuum will help reveal hidden dust in homes by installing a laser diode at a precise angle of 1.5 degrees, 7.3 mm above the floor, to show the gap between dust on the floor and the home surface. Furthermore, the vacuum can meticulously sort and count particles up to 15,000 times per second using an acoustic piezo sensor that converts vibrations into electrical signals, displaying the size and number of particles sucked in on the LCD screen.

The Dyson V12 Detect is thus a powerful and intelligent vacuum that provides scientific evidence of your home cleaning.

Laser Dust Detection
Dyson has designed laser dust detection technology to ensure your home is thoroughly cleaned. The Dust Detection laser reveals tiny particles that are invisible to the naked eye. The precisely angled laser is installed in the cleaning head.

This concept arose when Dyson engineers observed dust particles in the air inside homes when sunlight shone through. They began to think about how to apply this concept to the invisible dust in homes. The team experimented with laser light in the lab to test whether this method could work, leading to a new solution.

Dyson engineers developed a green laser diode capable of showing the best contrast, installed in the Slim Fluffy cleaning head, positioned precisely at a 1.5-degree angle, 7.3 mm above the floor, allowing it to capture hidden dust on surfaces invisible to the naked eye and vacuum it away.

Piezo Sensor
Dyson engineers understand that people today want to have more hygienic homes, so they developed technology that allows users to measure detected dust to scientifically prove deep cleaning in real-time.

Acoustic Piezo sensors are installed in the cleaning head. The carbon fiber bristles in the head suck in small particles and can calculate the number of particles up to 15,000 times per second. Additionally, when dust is sucked in and passes through the Piezo sensor into the dust bin, the machine can display the size and amount of dust on the LCD screen, allowing users to see how much dust has been vacuumed and the sizes of various particles.

Moreover, the vacuum is designed to automatically adjust suction modes when it detects increased dust levels while operating in automatic mode and will switch back to normal suction mode when it detects lower dust levels.

Anti-Tangle Technology
The new anti-tangle hair screw cleaning head has been developed with a conical brush bar to prevent hair tangling that may occur with the brush head. This head can easily and impressively suck in human hair and pet fur.

Filtration System
The Dyson V12 Detect Slim cordless vacuum comes with Dyson's advanced 5-stage filtration technology, capturing particles as small as 0.3 microns with 99.99% efficiency and only releasing cleaner air. Dyson's cyclone technology effectively separates dust and dirt from the air and seals to prevent dust from leaking back into your home.
