SENA Supports Construction Workers and Contractors – Extending Care to All Stakeholders
SENA is moving forward to assist contractors and workers in construction camps following the lockdown orders that lasted for months. They are providing essential food packages including rice, dry food, and clean drinking water, delivered daily to alleviate the hardships faced by workers in over 40 projects in Bangkok and its vicinity. Additionally, they are ramping up vaccination efforts to combat COVID-19 and build immunity among employees, construction workers, and contractors, both Thai and foreign.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kesara Thanyalakphak, Managing Director of Sena Development Public Company Limited, stated that the current crisis serves as a test for executives in this era to see how they can keep their businesses afloat and continue moving forward.
Today, the situation resembles a crisis within a crisis. We are facing the ongoing pandemic of COVID-19, with multiple variants continuously emerging, causing widespread damage to the economy, financial stability, society, and the well-being of everyone.
The construction camp closure orders have impacted the entire supply chain. In response to this situation, Sena is ready to accept and comply with the measures, adjusting operational methods to align with government regulations regarding the closure of construction camps. They are assisting workers in various ways, including food delivery, setting up screening points, and conducting testing among workers to contain the spread and ensure the well-being of both workers and contractors during the 30-day camp closure, minimizing the movement of workers to other areas.
Currently, Sena has over 40 projects under construction and ready for transfer this year, both in Bangkok and its suburbs, covering single-family homes and condominiums. Each construction site has faced challenges and difficulties, prompting Sena to care for and assist both Thai and foreign laborers across all projects by providing essential food packages, dry food, drinking water, and necessary items for daily living to workers in construction camps.
Moreover, Sena is increasing its concern and care for employees during this crisis because "employees" are considered stakeholders of the organization. To reduce risks for everyone and lower the rate of virus transmission, they are accelerating the vaccination of "Sinopharm" for all employees, contractors, and both Thai and foreign construction workers. Importantly, Sena is committed to caring for and assisting all groups as well. In the context of COVID-19, this is a time for all sectors of the world to unite and work together to overcome this crisis.
