Dusit Central Park Develops 'Roof Park' to Establish an 'Iconic' Global Destination
Amid the COVID-19 crisis, one of the major mixed-use projects, "Dusit Central Park," valued at over 36.7 billion baht on a 23-rai plot of land at the corner of Silom Road, opposite Lumphini Park, continues to advance its development in this prime business district of Bangkok, a key economic area.
The mixed-use project "Dusit Central Park" is a joint venture between two major Thai corporations, Dusit Thani Public Company Limited and Central Pattana Public Company Limited (CPN), aimed at creating a new Iconic Building for the metropolis of Bangkok, reinforcing the image of "Here for Bangkok" to attract visitors from around the world!
Suphajee Suttharmphun, CEO of Dusit International Group, stated that the development of the mixed-use project "Dusit Central Park," which includes three high-rise buildings: the Dusit Thani Hotel, residential buildings, office spaces, and a shopping center, along with a large green area called "Roof Park" spanning 7 rai, is currently under construction as planned, with the foundation piles already laid. The Dusit Thani Bangkok Hotel is expected to be completed first in 2023, with various sections gradually opening in 2024.
Meanwhile, in the residential sector, Dusit Residences with 159 units and Dusit Parkside with 230 units have already seen 22% of their total 389 units booked, reflecting the demand in the "super luxury" market and the potential of Thailand, where there is significant interest from wellness and health-focused clients. Soon, Dusit Central Park will open a "Sales Gallery" to officially commence sales.
"Hong Kong is facing a significant and challenging transition regarding migration and investment, with many looking to Thailand as a prime candidate for residential living and future business expansion," she added.
Additionally, there will be a major shopping center magnet, "Central Park", covering over 80,000 square meters, offering a new lifestyle experience, along with Grade A office buildings "Central Park Offices" and "Roof Park", which are central to the development of Dusit Central Park, delivering a unique "green space" that connects the panoramic views of Lumphini Park, enhancing the green lungs of Bangkok and creating a sustainable ecosystem and urban ecology.
"The land development by the Dusit Thani Group aims to proceed alongside the development of the surrounding urban community to elevate the city into a modern metropolis, similar to the growth trends of major cities abroad. The development of Roof Park will ensure that Dusit Central Park is recognized internationally as a new iconic building in Bangkok, attracting people from around the world as both a tourist destination and a public space that meets the new lifestyle of Bangkok residents," she emphasized.
Roof Park, or the sky garden, is a 7-rai green space designed to resemble hills in the heart of the city, surrounded by the high-rise buildings of "Dusit Central Park", creating a lush landscape that transitions with the height of the buildings from the 3rd to the 7th floor. No matter where you are, you will find a continuous view connecting to Lumphini Park, creating an endless natural perspective or Infinity Park, similar to "Central Park" in New York City, USA. This represents a phenomenon in Thai real estate development concerning ecosystems and is the first high-value land development in a prime city center to transform into a public green space.
Suphajee mentioned that the "Roof Park" project is a passion and a significant challenge! The landscape architecture for Roof Park is designed by Landscape Collaboration Co., Ltd., which is tasked with fulfilling this vision with a design that maintains the "identity" and spirit of "Dusit Thani", showcasing the unique Thai characteristics of flora and waterfalls.
The design is intended for the community and the public, ensuring accessibility for everyone to use as a space for relaxation and recreation according to individual lifestyles. It incorporates a unique ecosystem design for Bangkok, creating a natural environment rich with local plant species based on studies from the Niras Golden Mountain and Niras Suphanburi.
"In addition to increasing green space in Bangkok and helping to reduce urban temperatures, Roof Park will be a functional area, creating connectivity from BTS, MRT, and Lumphini Park, integrating various modern technologies," she added.
Roof Park is a place that everyone can genuinely use according to their lifestyle and preferences, catering to families, young adults, teenagers, working-age individuals, children, and the elderly, with various areas such as a Food Passage for dining, family picnics, a playground, running tracks, cycling paths, natural walking trails, and spaces for various activities like art exhibitions, music, outdoor movie screenings, workshops, and mini-events.
