The Thai Real Estate Agents Association has partnered with the Professional Qualification Institute (Public Organization) to sign a cooperation agreement to promote and support the development of professional qualification systems in the real estate business. This initiative aims to help real estate agents enter a certified professional standard system, along with collaboration with the TERRABKK website, which has developed a new system to support professional agents in easily accessing clients looking to buy or sell properties, enhancing confidence in transactions through the TERRABKK website.

 

         Ms. Sumitra Wongphakdee, Managing Director of Terra Media and Consulting Co., Ltd., the provider of the website TERRABKK.COM, stated that https://www.terrabkk.com/agent has been newly developed to serve as a real estate service platform for certified agents from the Professional Qualification Institute (Public Organization), allowing them to register for free to use the Terrabkk Web Page, creating an online profile that enhances credibility and raises the standard of agents with a “professional mark.”

        Buyers can select professional agents with expertise at various levels and view property listings of interest, with the ability to contact them online immediately. Currently, the TerraBKK system features over 300,000 properties nationwide, including single houses, twin houses, townhomes, condominiums, land, and commercial buildings, with continuous updates of additional information.

 

 

The usage of the Terrabkk Web Page is divided into:

Agent Finder: A function allowing buyers to search for professional agents with expertise in specific locations or properties that meet customer needs. This function will bring agents closer to both buyers and sellers.

Agent Profile: A profile page introducing registered professional agents on the Terrabkk Web Page, which is crucial for establishing an online identity for professional agents, making it easier for potential buyers and sellers to access them. This includes personal information, expertise, listed properties, customer reviews, and contact methods. Terrabkk has developed a system that facilitates communication with clients, allowing them to schedule property viewings directly from the website.

 

 

 

Additionally, registered professional agents will receive 4 additional privileges, including:

1. Free membership: Exclusively for agents certified by the Professional Qualification Institute (Public Organization).

2. One month of free pinned advertising for recommended agents.

3. Free listing of 20 properties for 3 months.

4. Free participation in Terrabkk events or special VIP pricing.

         Mr. Nopadol Piyatarapoom, Director of the Professional Qualification Institute (Public Organization), or TPQI, stated that the professional standards for real estate agents are crucial for the real estate business due to the high value of the industry.           In the past, many foreign agents have entered the Thai market, while Thai agents still have an advantage with local clients due to their expertise in locations and genuine understanding of client contexts. Thus, the government's role in certifying professional standards and creating a standardized buying and selling system will help instill confidence in clients, ensuring safer property transactions.

“The collaboration between TPQI and the Thai Real Estate Agents Association will further promote Thai real estate agents, of which over 3,700 have already been trained and assessed as professional agents, connecting personal qualification databases to the online system through the TerraBKK website, which specializes in disseminating information in the real estate business, helping agents establish a credible identity, allowing clients to verify individual expertise, and enhancing confidence in sales through the website.”

         Mr. Prawit Anusiri, President of the Thai Real Estate Agents Association stated that the association has been striving to push the real estate agency business into a regulated system to create professionals with standards and credibility. This collaboration with TPQI marks another success in elevating the real estate agent profession to an international level.

       “Currently, over 70% of real estate agents in Thailand are foreign agents, while only 30% are Thai agents, with over 3,700 assessed agents across 8 levels. Each level of agents has different expertise. Therefore, promoting real estate agents into the professional qualification system is crucial for the profession.”

        It is expected that after the COVID-19 situation stabilizes, the real estate agent profession will become more appealing due to the increasing demand for buying, selling, and renting properties through agents. Additionally, individuals from various professions are showing interest in becoming real estate agents as a supplementary career due to job insecurity and the attractive income potential of the profession.
