Tourism in many countries is showing positive signs of resuming travel for tourists again, as various governments have implemented measures to stimulate the economy and support the tourism sector, one of the largest industries in the world. This will promote the hotel business of the company to recover quickly.

Minor International Public Company Limited (MINT), a leader in the hotel, food, and global lifestyle fashion brand business, has announced its readiness to resume operations of its hotel business worldwide, with a total of 535 locations, to adapt to the new normal lifestyle in line with the 'Travel for Happiness' policy.

Mr. Chaiphat Paitoon, Chief Strategic Development Officer of Minor International Public Company Limited, stated that Minor has prepared its hotel business group worldwide to operate again in the new normal format.

In Thailand, there are 28 hotels (5,009 rooms), accounting for 14% of revenue, which are gradually reopening, starting with Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel at the end of May, followed by hotels in Hua Hin in early June, and some hotels in Phuket, Koh Samui, Pattaya, and Khon Kaen scheduled to reopen in June and July 2020.

In the Asia region, there are 29 hotels (2,988 rooms), excluding hotels in Thailand, accounting for 4% of revenue. Hotels in China and Vietnam have successfully reopened, following positive tourism signals in the Asia region since April, which will benefit Minor's hotel business in this region, as over 60% of hotel customers are located in Asia.

Additionally, the NH Hotel Group, with 343 hotels (51,151 rooms), accounting for 67% of revenue, is expected to resume operations as soon as possible, with around 60% of hotels anticipated to reopen by the end of June, as many countries in Europe begin to ease lockdown measures or even announce the end of the pandemic.

In response to the Thai government's tourism stimulus measures, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has proposed a domestic tourism stimulation plan, which includes measures such as 'Travel for Happiness', allowing citizens to register for digital vouchers to be used for accommodation costs under the 'Let's Go Travel' initiative, which will support accommodation expenses and hotel activities.

Additionally, there is a 'Encouragement' measure to reward approximately 1.2 million medical personnel working on the front lines against COVID-19, which will support a budget for study tours through domestic travel agencies. Recently, there has been a resolution to waive hotel business fees to assist hotel operators, along with many other policies that will be introduced in the future.

Minor plans to organize marketing activities in line with the Thai government's tourism stimulus measures to appropriately support spending among Thai customers. It is believed that various business sectors will gradually recover, and once this crisis is over, tourists will travel more, prioritizing customer health and safety.

"All 530 hotels in our global network will comply with the orders and guidelines from each country's government and the World Health Organization to oversee the development of strict hygiene measures for customers, as well as prioritize various activities for guests, including dining, tourism, shopping, etc. All of this will ensure that guests have a pleasant vacation experience alongside good health safety."
