SMART Reports Q1/2020 Results with Total Revenue of 117.92 Million Baht and Net Profit of 12.52 Million Baht, Revealing Continued Strong Performance in Q2/2020 with Growth in Construction Materials and Lightweight Bricks, Mega Project Initiatives, EEC Project Policies, and Ongoing Real Estate Investments. Hot Weather Boosts Demand for Heat-Reducing and Energy-Saving Materials, with Strategies to Expand Customer Base and Increase Sales Channels Both Domestically and Internationally.

Mr. Rangsit Teepakornsukasem, Managing Director of Smart Concrete Public Company Limited (SMART), a manufacturer and distributor of lightweight bricks using high-pressure steam curing for construction and wall partitioning, announced that for Q1 2020, the company reported total revenue of 117.92 million baht, an increase from 107.20 million baht in the same period last year, representing a growth of 10.72 million baht or 10%. The net profit was 12.52 million baht, up from 2.72 million baht in the same period last year, an increase of 9.80 million baht or 360.57%.

The company's performance has continuously improved due to the increased usage of lightweight bricks in government mega projects, private construction projects, and rising selling prices of lightweight bricks. Additionally, the company has actively marketed its products to enhance brand recognition and pushed for diverse sales channels while continuously expanding its customer base across all segments. The strategy of Online to Offline has also been employed to stimulate sales growth, with revenue from online channels increasing by 83% compared to the same period last year.

For the business outlook in Q2/2020, growth is expected to continue, despite minor impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic, which has caused delays in government projects and the closure of retail construction material stores in some areas. However, modern trade groups have adapted their sales strategies to online channels, and the company is focusing on expanding online distribution channels to reach more target customers.

Additionally, hot weather is expected to drive demand for heat-reducing and energy-saving materials, particularly in private real estate projects, industrial estates, and warehouses in the EEC area, while the company continues to receive contracts for mega projects and medium-sized investments from the government sector.

In the international market within the AEC region, the company has received continuous orders from dealers in Cambodia and Laos, supplying products for various projects and distributing them in large construction material stores. This year, the company aims for a revenue target of 490 million baht, with a growth of at least 5%, with revenue contributions expected to come from government projects (30%), private sector (68%), and international markets (2%).
