Asset World Corporation Public Company Limited (AWC), a leading Thai real estate developer focused on comprehensive lifestyle solutions, is moving forward with measures to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission by announcing the temporary closure of 5 hotels in Bangkok from March 26 to April 15, 2020. This decision aims to minimize travel for thousands of employees and reduce large gatherings, while also prioritizing the well-being of the community.
Naowalapa Traisorat, CEO and Managing Director of Asset World Corporation Public Company Limited (AWC), stated, "We are deeply concerned about the situation and are committed to being part of the measures to control large gatherings, promote social distancing, and reduce travel, especially in Bangkok. To care for our thousands of employees at AWC, we are announcing the temporary closure of 5 hotels in Bangkok, which include Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park, DoubleTree by Hilton Sukhumvit Bangkok, Le Méridien Bangkok, The Okura Prestige Bangkok, and Bangkok Marriott The Surawongse."
To support all employees of the 5 temporarily closed hotels, totaling over 2,000 individuals, all staff will continue to receive their salaries and benefits as usual during the closure. The company has mandated that all employees stay at home and avoid traveling to other provinces to prevent the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in accordance with government policy. Additionally, a comprehensive cleaning plan (Big Cleaning) will be implemented across all 5 hotels during the closure to enhance hygiene confidence for guests, employees, visitors, and all stakeholders upon reopening.
“AWC will closely monitor the situation and is always ready to establish guidelines, measures, and policies for various operations, prioritizing care and assistance to ensure that all parties involved cooperate fully with the government and various organizations to overcome this challenging situation together,” Naowalapa concluded.
