Ch. Karnchang Public Company Limited (CK) has established various measures along with a Business Continuity Plan in alignment with government policies to guide business operations in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. This is aimed at ensuring safety, hygiene, and minimizing the risk of virus transmission within the organization, both at the company and across all construction project sites.

Dr. Supamas Treeviswath, the CEO of Ch. Karnchang Public Company Limited, stated, “We are closely monitoring the COVID-19 outbreak and have implemented various safety and hygiene measures in accordance with the standards set by the Ministry of Public Health and the World Health Organization. We fully support the government's requests for cooperation, adapting strictly to the changing situation to serve as guidelines for our operations and business conduct, while ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees at our headquarters, field offices, and all construction sites. We have also developed a business continuity plan to ensure that our operations can continue with minimal impact.”

For internal measures at the company’s buildings and construction sites, access points have been reduced to a single entry and exit for both the headquarters and construction sites, with screening points established at the entrance. All office areas are cleaned with disinfectants by specialized personnel, and passenger elevators are sanitized every hour. Staff are assigned to operate the elevators to reduce contact, and hand sanitizers are installed at entrances and near elevators. Soap and paper towels are always available in restrooms, and high-touch areas such as stair railings and door handles are cleaned every hour. The gym has been closed to reduce the risk of virus transmission in line with government policies.

For visitors and employees, body temperature checks are conducted before entering the buildings and construction sites. Anyone with a temperature exceeding 37.5 degrees Celsius will not be allowed entry. Employees are advised to avoid travel or transit through countries at high risk of COVID-19 transmission, whether for company missions or personal reasons. If travel to high-risk countries is necessary, employees must refrain from public activities for 14 days upon their return and monitor their health at home.

The company requests employees to avoid external meetings and crowded community locations, opting instead for online meetings or video calls. During April, which is designated as a regular working month by the government, employees are urged not to travel to other provinces to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission across regions.

Additionally, the company has implemented its Business Continuity Plan (BCP) in case it becomes necessary to temporarily close the headquarters or construction sites or if normal operations cannot continue. This plan includes the following strategies to ensure ongoing operations while minimizing the risk of virus transmission:
1. Establishing temporary offices by dividing employees who can substitute for each other from various departments into 2-3 groups to ensure continuous operations, while providing necessary equipment similar to that at the headquarters. The temporary offices will also have screening measures in place.
2. Preparing a work-from-home plan to enable employees to work online from home just as they would at the headquarters. Necessary equipment such as computers and online meeting tools will be provided according to employee needs, and the company’s phone lines will be redirected to employees’ mobile phones for efficient communication.
