"Klong Luang 1 Housing Project for the Elderly" Opens for Reservations from November 30 to December 6
The National Housing Authority (NHA) is moving forward with the launch of the "Klong Luang 1 Housing Project for the Elderly" immediately after the Cabinet approved the project aimed at providing housing for senior citizens, emphasizing Universal Design to accommodate elderly residents. Reservations will be open from November 30 to December 6 at Future Park Rangsit, with a promotion offering free transfer fees, starting at just 2.33 million baht.
Dr. Thachaphol Kanjanakul, Governor of the National Housing Authority (NHA), stated that following the Cabinet's approval on October 24 for the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security (MSDHS) to implement housing projects for the elderly, the NHA has immediately proceeded with the first pilot project, the Klong Luang 1 Housing Project, covering an area of 39.59 rai with 192 units.
According to the 20-year master plan for housing development (2017-2036), the NHA aims to create 3,000 units of Senior Complexes, with an initial 360 units planned for 2018-2019, starting with the Klong Luang 1 project of 192 units, expected to begin construction around March 2019 and be ready for occupancy by 2020. In 2020, the Klong Luang 2 project will be developed with an additional 168 units, currently in the process of environmental impact assessment for approval.
The Klong Luang 1 project is located along Klong 4 Road, Klong Si Subdistrict, Klong Luang District, Pathum Thani Province, featuring three house types: 1. Single-storey twin houses (Type A) on 38 square wah, 76 units, 78 square meters, 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom; 2. Two-storey twin houses (Type B) on 39 square wah, 68 units, 110 square meters, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms; and 3. Two-storey twin houses (Type C) on 42.50 square wah, 48 units, 120 square meters, 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms.
The project's highlight is its Universal Design, making it suitable for elderly residents and people of all ages, featuring ramps for easy access, switches positioned no higher than 90 cm from the floor, electrical outlets at least 45 cm high for wheelchair users, and bathroom facilities equipped with adjustable showerheads and stainless steel grab bars for support.
Additionally, the project is equipped with standard public utilities comparable to those developed by private companies, including a recreation building with a swimming pool, first aid room, fitness center, and CCTV systems at the entrance and throughout the project, with a 2-meter high fence and an additional 1-meter transparent fence, along with 24-hour security personnel. The main roads are 16 and 12 meters wide, while the internal roads are 10 meters wide, designed with sustainable community assessment criteria.
