In this hot weather, everything can feel irritating. You might not want to go anywhere or do anything because of the heat, which can lead to a hot temper without you even realizing it. Even minor issues can escalate into arguments with those around you, causing rifts or damage. If you don't want your life to fall apart due to anger or a hot temper, you need to learn how to manage your emotions effectively.

To cope with the heat and control your anger, you must cultivate inner peace and engage in more positive behaviors, such as smiling, laughing, and doing good deeds for others without causing discomfort to those around you or yourself. During this hot weather, the Thai Health Promotion Foundation suggests reducing anger and increasing methods to manage it, to enhance your mental well-being if you struggle to handle your feelings.

This Summer, Don't Let Your Heart Get Hot

            Ways to Reduce Anger

1. Don't Let Emotions Lead The first step is to stay calm. Take deep breaths and be mindful of your thoughts. Consider the consequences of your actions if you do something negative; this will help cool your emotions and prevent rash actions.

2. Don't Avoid Problems Do not procrastinate or turn to substances for relief. Don't think that alcohol or cigarettes will help reduce stress, as they only harm your health and can increase accumulated stress.

3. Don't Rely Solely on Others If you can solve a problem yourself, do your best before involving others. You can share your troubles with close friends, but don't expect others to solve your problems for you.

Activities can also help cool your emotions.

1. Listen to Music Choose uplifting songs with positive meanings, avoiding sad or aggressive music, as this can help balance your emotions.

2. Cook Engaging in cooking can distract you from feeling irritated or sad. Sometimes, what makes you angry may be trivial, but you tend to dwell on it. Cooking can provide emotional satisfaction, create focus, and bring joy from preparing your own meals.

3. Art Therapy Freehand drawing can be a way to express emotions, create focus, and bring peace of mind.

4. Vent Your Feelings Find a close friend to talk to. Expressing your troubles can be therapeutic and may provide new perspectives on solving your problems.

5. Change Your Environment Try seeking inspiration in new places. Let nature help soothe your mind and regain your focus.

This Summer, Don't Let Your Heart Get Hot

This summer, in addition to taking care of your health, managing your emotions is also crucial. Learn to reduce and adjust your thoughts to be more positive, and avoid harboring ill feelings towards others. Each time anger arises, we often don't realize it. Therefore, we must quickly regain our composure by simply thinking...

“Why should we be angry?”

“What are we angry about?”

“Is our anger causing trouble for ourselves and those around us?”

Consider the sequence of events and how the issues or things that make you angry affect you. It’s better to address them gradually because, in the end,  in every right, there is also wrong and in every bad situation, there are good aspects and in similarities, there are always differences. In every loss, there can be a win. Nothing is perfect. Understand that every human has emotions: love, greed, anger, and attachment, but we can choose to live with happiness rather than suffering, can't we? So why let anger waste our happiness?
