TerraBKK has found that many government agencies recognize the importance of an aging society that will soon emerge in Thailand. When constructing new residential buildings, the costs can be quite high. If there are house designs that are suitable for the elderly and can be practically implemented, it will ease the design costs for the public. TerraBKK has compiled interesting senior housing designs from government agencies as detailed below:

National Housing Authority (NHA) with the project to promote innovative design development “Elderly Houses that are not just for the elderly” aims to provide housing designs for the general public that accommodate the aging society and enhance the efficiency of housing design for low-income individuals. There are a total of 6 house designs available, categorized into 2 types based on budgets of 500,000 baht and 1,500,000 baht. Details are as follows:

Bangkok with the Smile House Project for Citizens Phase 3, a concept for all (Universal Design) supports various groups of citizens, such as the elderly, pregnant women, and young children who require strollers, with over 20 house designs. Examples of house designs include:

Department of Health Service Support with the Sarnrak Hospital for the Elderly Project has been showcasing senior housing designs for a long time. The style is Classic, emphasizing a sense of stability, strength, and tranquility, such as high roofs characteristic of Thai architecture, with even flooring throughout the house and surrounding areas that create a pleasant atmosphere.
