Nowadays, traveling around Bangkok often means battling through long traffic jams that can last for hours. Many people opt for the convenience of the Skytrain, but it would be even better if there were options for car-sharing using small electric vehicles, making it easier to navigate through various alleys.

Today, TerraBKK introduces you to “Ha:mo,” an innovative car-sharing service using small electric vehicles from Toyota. The Ha:mo vehicles come equipped with new smart functions and devices designed to solve transportation issues, allowing users to seamlessly connect public transport with personal travel while minimizing environmental impact.

It's worth noting that the Ha:mo service has already been implemented in Japan, specifically in Toyota City, Tokyo, Okayama, and Okinawa, as well as in Grenoble, France. Most recently, Thailand will experience Ha:mo for the first time at the end of this year, starting at Chulalongkorn University, where a trial system will operate for short distances within the university's vicinity.

Using Ha:mo is very convenient. Users must register online or in person at the project office located within the university. Vehicle reservations can be made instantly via smartphone, with service fees starting at 30 baht per trip, allowing for 20 minutes of use at a maximum speed of 60 kilometers per hour.

Once users reach their destination, they can park the Ha:mo vehicle and follow the usage guidelines, effectively connecting their journey with public transport from the starting point to their destination.

The Ha:mo service will officially launch in December, starting with 10 vehicles, with plans to add another 20 vehicles by mid-2018, totaling 30 vehicles over the next two years. There will be 33 parking spaces available, 12 parking stations, and 10 charging stations distributed across various locations to facilitate connections with the BTS Skytrain, MRT, and public buses.
