IKEA has teamed up with Marimekko to unveil the special collection BASTUA, inviting you to relax this summer with the essence of Nordic sauna culture. The collection will be available starting March 24 at IKEA stores and online from March 25 onwards.

The latest special collection BASTUA was launched in collaboration with Marimekko at Mega Bangna, an eagerly awaited event featuring a variety of home decor items including furniture, glassware, and textiles. The designs are inspired by nature, showcasing a simple aesthetic that encourages you to cherish moments of relaxation and self-care more than ever. Official sales will begin on Friday, March 24, 2023, at IKEA stores and online at IKEA.co.th starting Saturday, March 25, 2023.

This limited collection marks the first collaboration between IKEA and Marimekko, a Finnish lifestyle brand inspired by sauna culture and Nordic relaxation. The term BASTUA refers to a sauna in Småland, part of southern Sweden, which is the birthplace of the IKEA brand.

Products in this collection feature vibrant prints and interesting weaving techniques, including large rhubarb patterns, which are plants commonly found near saunas in Scandinavian countries, curved wood patterns reminiscent of sauna interiors, and designs that reflect the movement of sunlight on water during summer. All of this aims to encourage everyone to appreciate the aesthetics of living, reinforcing IKEA's mission to bring happiness and create a better everyday life for people, starting easily at home.

During the event, IKEA Thailand also featured a special performance led by Tor Thanapob Leelaratnakhachorn, a talented young actor, who shared stories that sparked ideas for finding simple joys in daily life at home and beyond, showcasing interesting products from this latest collection, including kimonos, water bottles, tote bags, and more. The collection features four main patterns: rhubarb (Raparperi), flower with steam (Höyrykukka), wood (Pötkö), representing relaxation and rejuvenation after sauna use, and curved wood (Puuleikkaus), resembling the horizon reflecting sunlight visible from summer vacation homes.

The BASTUA collection in collaboration with Marimekko is designed to enhance moments of happiness and health with 29 unique home decor items that you won't want to miss. These include bathroom products for complete relaxation, such as green striped and rhubarb-patterned kimonos, tightly woven water-resistant curtains, and easy-to-clean tote bags available in three vibrant designs, as well as kitchen items like green leaf-shaped trays, clear glass pitchers and bowls, and stainless steel water bottles with striped and floral patterns that IKEA and Marimekko fans will love.

Interested customers can purchase the BASTUA collection at IKEA Bangna, IKEA Bang Yai, and IKEA Phuket starting Friday, March 24, 2023, and online from Saturday, March 25, 2023.
