Mitsugetsu translates to a sense of intimacy in Japanese, which may hold significant meaning for this photo set featuring elderly women.

Kenta Nakamura, a Japanese photographer, began his acquaintance with this elderly woman in 2012. He recalls that initially, when he asked for permission to photograph her, she was shy and declined, saying she disliked being in front of the camera.

However, as he continued to photograph her, he discovered her unique trait of expressing unusual personalities and emotions, which he viewed not as oddities but as pieces of art that this elderly woman was showcasing to him.

The joy of viewing this collection lies in Kenta's observation that if you look closely at her eyes, you will see the eyes of a grandmother, a mother, an aunt, a sister, or a younger sister; her eyes embody all of these roles.

These beautiful, simple images subtly remind us that if we look at things in the simplest way, everything can be beautiful as it is.
