During this New Year season, if you haven't traveled anywhere and are looking for new attractions in Bangkok and its vicinity for 2017, now is the perfect time as the roads are clear and there are fewer people, making it ideal for a relaxed trip. Today, TerraBKK is excited to take you on a tour of these new destinations.

Health Accumulation Museum (Phutthamonthon Sai 2, Thawi Watthana)

The Health Accumulation Museum is a museum that collects vintage items such as household goods, toys, and printed posters, showcasing over 300,000 pieces, each over 30 years old. It tells stories from the past effectively and serves as a learning center that enriches memories and creates joy and experiences for the younger generation. It is a vintage attraction that brings together antiques from the youth of our grandparents for everyone to enjoy.

The Health Accumulation Museum is located on Phutthamonthon Sai 2, Thawi Watthana, and is open every day from Monday to Friday from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM (closed every Wednesday) and on public holidays, Saturday - Sunday from 10:30 AM to 6:30 PM.

Admission fees are 100 Baht for Thai citizens, 50 Baht for children under 15, and 200 Baht for foreigners.

Warehouse 1919 (Klong San District)

Memories of the past come alive again at “Warehouse 1919,” a new tourist attraction in Bangkok's Thonburi side, located along the Chao Phraya River opposite Talad Noi.

What makes this place interesting is the revival of the “Hua Juk Long” pier, which played a significant role in Siam during the reign of King Rama IV, bringing it back to life and developing it into a tourist destination for the younger generation to understand the Thai-Chinese historical narrative. The renovation of the Wang Lee House was done with a conservation approach, preserving the original architectural style as much as possible using traditional restoration methods and materials. For example, the murals around the door and window frames were restored using colors that match the originals without applying modern paints. Any damaged parts were repaired using wood from other parts of the building without discarding the old wood.

Inside Warehouse 1919, there are multipurpose areas for activities and exhibitions, restaurants, cafes, and a chill-out spot for city dwellers that evoke the lifestyle of people during the early Rattanakosin period. Additionally, there are shops selling art and crafts from new-generation artists, a museum studying the Thai-Chinese history along the Chao Phraya River, and a lush green lawn with a highlight view of a Chinese temple in the background.

Getting to Warehouse 1919 is easy; you can take a free boat service from Si Phraya Pier to Wang Lee Pier.

“Chang Chui” (Sirindhorn Road, Bang Phlat)

“Chang Chui” is a realm of art and ideas, a new landmark in the city created by Mr. Lim Somchai Songwatana, the founder of the fashion brand Flynow, who wanted to transform an empty space into a land of limitless creativity. It is a hub for creative minds, a space for the new generation looking to escape monotony and embrace inspiration. Here, there are art exhibitions and various activities that change continuously, including food, social gatherings, entertainment, and art waiting for you to experience and learn at all times.

The interior offers a lush atmosphere infused with artistic vibes. Chang Chui emphasizes design concepts that utilize reclaimed materials. A highlight you shouldn't miss is the gigantic airplane located in the open area, named “Nao,” which plays on the idea of “Noah's Ark,” the vessel that helps people escape during a global flood according to Christian belief. Inside this Nao, there is a restaurant run by a Thai Michelin chef.

Operating hours: Open daily from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM.

Upside Down House Salaya (Sam Phran, Nakhon Pathom)

“Upside Down House Salaya” is a popular new attraction that has recently opened and is loved by both teenagers and families. The uniqueness of this place is its striking yellow house that appears to be upside down.

Inside the house, the unusual design continues, as all furniture, tables, cabinets, beds, and appliances are arranged upside down. Therefore, when you enter, standing still and taking pictures in the usual way won't work; you need to pose creatively to have fun, as when you look at the upside-down photos, it will seem like you are floating above.

Inside “Upside Down House Salaya,” there are various rooms, each decorated in vibrant colors for tourists to take photos. If you're unsure how to pose, there are sample images on the walls for inspiration.

If you're interested in having fun taking upside-down photos in the colorful rooms, you can visit here. It is open every day from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, with admission fees of 100 Baht for children between 80-120 cm tall and 200 Baht for adults.
