Hello everyone, George from TiresBid is back again! Today, I will share some tips and calculations on how you can get a new set of tires for free, saving a significant amount of money in your pocket. As you may know, there are fuel-efficient tires available for both sedans and SUVs. You might think, 'Hey! These tires are much more expensive, and they probably only save a little fuel. Maybe we should just stick with other brands, right?' Well, let's analyze and calculate whether it's worth it or not.

George will calculate based on friends and family who drive about 25,000 kilometers per year, using fuel at a rate of 13 kilometers per liter, with fuel prices at 22 baht per liter (for E20, Gasohol 91, and 95).

Let's think about it: in one year, if we drive 25,000 kilometers and our fuel efficiency is 12 kilometers per liter, that equals 2,083 liters per year.

(This is a preliminary estimate based on distance and fuel consumption per kilometer.)

Now, if we multiply 2,083 liters by the fuel price of 22 baht, we find that in one year, we spend 45,826 baht on fuel.

According to the standards for fuel-efficient tires, they can help you save about 3-5% on fuel. (The fuel savings from tires mainly come from a special rubber compound that provides better grip on the road, reducing the energy needed for driving.) George will use an average of 4%, which means you will save 1,833 baht per year from the total of 42,306 baht.

If we use the tires fully for 2.5 years or 62,500 kilometers, that equals 4,582 baht per set of tires. This is definitely worth it! Just think, if you use two sets of tires, that equals 9,165 baht, which means you essentially get one set of four tires for free for your sedan. For an SUV, it might be equivalent to getting two tires for free. So, is it worth it? George says yes, it is!

For sedans, fuel-efficient tires include Michelin Energy xm2+, Bridgestone Ecopia EP300, Dunlop Enasave EC300, and Hankook Kinergy Ex, among others.
For SUVs, options include Michelin Primacy SUV and Bridgestone Ecopia HL001.

George recommends that while these tires may not be high-performance, they are quality tires suitable for general use and will provide a quieter ride compared to sporty tires.
