“My job is not to be easy on people. My job is to make them better.” This quote from the man who changed the world, Steve Jobs, reflects his hope to work towards improving everyone's lives! It's true what he said. Although Steve Jobs passed away in 2011, he left behind invaluable innovations, so it's no surprise that we should learn from the life of this genius who transformed the world.

1. Seek Inspiration from Others

Steve Jobs was a renowned American business leader and inventor, often remembered for his black turtleneck and favorite jeans. He co-founded Apple Computer with Steve Wozniak in 1976 at just 21 years old, developing the Macintosh Apple I in his garage. With his distinctive ideas, did you know that besides nurturing Apple, he also served as the CEO of Pixar Animation Studios, which he bought from George Lucas, the creator of the epic Star Wars films? After Disney acquired Pixar, Jobs became a board member of The Walt Disney Company.

The reason I briefly shared his background is to highlight that Steve Jobs chose to work with diverse experiences and surrounded himself with a creative community. It's clear that Jobs' success was not a coincidence but a result of his intentions. If we want to emulate Jobs' success, we must immerse ourselves in an inspiring work environment. Simply put, “If you want to be someone, place yourself in that community.” For example, if you aspire to be a great writer, you should connect with knowledgeable, experienced, and dedicated individuals in that field. When you are surrounded by talented and capable people with positive energy and inspiration, achieving success becomes much easier. In essence, “Working with talented people will make you talented too.” This is because you will engage in discussions, learn, and have clearer success goals.

2. Have Like-Minded Friends

The saying goes, “A bird without feathers and a person without friends cannot soar high.” While this may not be 100% true, having good friends who guide you in the right direction is crucial. Particularly in creating a work community, Steve Jobs initiated Silicon Valley for entrepreneurs to discuss and share ideas, fostering a community that encourages learning and drives success in life. His close friend, Steve Wozniak, was a constant companion in developing and realizing their dreams.

3. Never Stop Reading

Even though Jobs did not graduate from college, his passion for learning, combined with his knowledge and determination, propelled him to success, earning him the title of a wizard in the IT industry. He often said, “Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish.” When we are constantly hungry for knowledge, our personal development knows no bounds, as we open ourselves to new worlds through books. It's worth noting that not only Jobs loved reading, but so do Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, and Mark Zuckerberg.

4. Never Give Up on Destiny

Although Jobs was a private person who didn't like to be in the spotlight, his life was a mix of extreme highs and lows. One could say his life was like walking on a bed of nails, as he faced numerous challenges before reaching the pinnacle of success and acceptance today. Part of this was due to his self-confidence and his fearlessness of change, even after being ousted from his own company. With a love for challenges, Jobs chose to create products that stood out amidst opposition and focused on only a few works, leading to the iconic i-products that have become groundbreaking innovations today, with a vast fan base that adores his creations.
