Is it time to clean your electrical appliances? The devices we have been using for a long time need regular maintenance and cleaning. My Home has brought you 10 tips for cleaning various electrical appliances!

Let's clean our electrical appliances!

Cleaning electrical appliances

1. Television

To prevent dust from settling on your TV screen, use an anti-static spray and a glass cleaner to wipe it clean. Then dry it with paper towels, and you'll be able to enjoy a dust-free viewing experience!

2. Iron

Make sure to unplug the iron before cleaning it and ensure it is cool. If your iron is not non-stick, use a soft cloth with toothpaste to clean the soleplate. For stubborn stains, scrub with a fine abrasive pad. This will leave your iron clean and ready for use again. You can read more about how to clean an iron.

3. Vacuum Cleaner

Wash the dust bag with warm water and let it dry. Use a dust brush to clean the paper filter, and if it’s made of velvet, rinse it with cold water and let it dry. For the joints of the machine, disassemble and clean them first, then apply a drop of lubricant or grease before reassembling.

4. Washing Machine

Fill the washing machine with water and dissolve chlorine bleach, then run the machine until the dark stains come off. Clean the small crevices in the drum using cotton swabs to remove debris, and occasionally clean the edges of the drum with an old toothbrush. You can read more about how to clean a washing machine in detail.

5. Refrigerator

Before cleaning the refrigerator, lay an old towel on the bottom to absorb water from cleaning and defrosting. Place a bowl of hot water in the freezer to speed up the melting of ice. Then, wipe the inside of the refrigerator and freezer with a mixture of baking soda and warm water to eliminate odors and easily remove dirt. Avoid using soap or dishwashing liquid as they can leave odors and spoil food. Clean the refrigerator every 2-3 months for optimal cleanliness and food preservation.

6. Oven

Use a cloth soaked in baking soda to wipe the oven while it is still warm, and use a paint-stripping cleaner to remove stains on the heat-resistant glass. Wipe the glass when it has cooled down, and your oven will be clean and stain-free!

7. Microwave

Place a cup of lemon juice in the microwave and run it on high for about 1 minute. The acid from the lemon juice will help eliminate odors and remove food stains. Afterward, use a damp cloth to wipe down both the inside and outside of the microwave, and it will be clean and ready for use again!

8. Blender

After using the blender, wash it immediately for easier cleaning and to prevent food odors. Add a small amount of dish soap mixed with warm water, then run the blender to clean every nook and cranny. Rinse with plain water to ensure your blender is spotless!

9. Toaster

Toasters should be cleaned regularly as crumbs tend to get stuck in the metal grill. The method is simple: first, remove the bottom tray, turn the toaster upside down, and shake out the crumbs. You may use a brush to gently sweep away any remaining crumbs. Then, clean the tray and the exterior of the toaster, and dry it before reassembling.

10. Lamp

Lamps that have been in use for a long time can accumulate moisture or oil, which attracts dust and forms stubborn stains. Dust them off with a synthetic dusting cloth. When dusting, use a large garbage bag underneath to catch any falling dust. If there are stubborn stains, use a rag soaked in household cleaning solution to wipe them away.
