TOP 15 Digital Competitiveness Ranking 2018
The top three positions remain the same as last year, just with a change in ranking. The United States is ranked first in 2018, moving up from third place last year, followed by Singapore in second place and Sweden in third. This year, Thailand improved its ranking to 39th, up from 41st last year.

Asia-Pacific Region
The IMD Institute also categorizes the 63 countries by region. Thailand is ranked 10th out of 14 countries in the Asia-Pacific region. Among ASEAN countries, Thailand is one of three countries that made it to this ranking, alongside Singapore (ranked 1st in the Asia-Pacific and 2nd overall) and Malaysia (ranked 8th in the Asia-Pacific and 27th overall).

Overview of Thailand
The data is detailed into three main categories: Knowledge (Digital Knowledge), Technology, and Future Readiness. Each subcategory also shows the ranking compared to the 63 countries. Here are the details:

Knowledge (Digital Knowledge) shows that the standout factor in this category is the number of female researchers in Thailand, which ranks 2nd out of 63 countries. Additionally, employee training ranks 12th out of 63 countries. However, the area that Thailand needs to develop the most is technological skills, which ranks 52nd out of 63 countries.
Technology indicates that Thailand ranks 3rd in the number of mobile broadband subscribers out of 63 countries and 13th in high-tech exports. One noticeable change for Thai people is the adaptation of commercial banks to embrace the 4.0 trend, which is reflected in their ranking of 11th in banking and financial services. However, the area needing the most improvement is internet access for users, which ranks 54th out of 63 countries.
Future Readiness reflects a significant concern for Thailand, as there are no standout factors, and three factors rank among the lowest, such as e-government (ranked 55th out of 63 countries), software piracy (ranked 56th), and tablet possession (ranked 58th). ---TerraBKK
