Precautions After the Computer Crime Act 2560
The Computer Crime Act (No. 2) B.E. 2560 or Computer Act
is set to officially announce its implementation tomorrow. Let's review the key points we should be cautious about before liking, sharing, or sending messages in various formats.1. Posting advertisements on Facebook or Instagram is considered spam, with a fine of 200,000 Baht.
2. Sending unsolicited SMS advertisements without consent must provide recipients with an option to decline the information; otherwise, it is considered spam, with a fine of 200,000 Baht.

3. Sending promotional emails is considered spam, with a fine of 200,000 Baht.
4. Liking posts is not illegal, except for those related to institutions, which may risk violating Section 112 or be considered a joint offense.
5. Sharing posts is considered dissemination; if the shared information affects others, it may violate the Act, especially if it impacts third parties.

6. If illegal information is found on your computer system, but it was not placed there by the owner, you can report it to the responsible agency. If reported and the information is deleted, the owner will not be held liable under the law. For example, comments on various websites, including Facebook, can be reported for removal if deemed illegal, and the website owner will not be liable.
7. Therefore, page admins who allow comments are considered innocent if they delete illegal content from their managed space.
8. Do not post obscene content that can be disseminated to the public.

9. Posts about children and youth must obscure their faces unless it is to honor or praise them respectfully.
10. Information about deceased individuals must not damage their reputation or be defamatory; relatives can file lawsuits under the law.
11. Posting defamatory comments about others is already covered by criminal law. If the information is false or edited, the accused can take legal action against the poster, with penalties of up to 3 years in prison and fines of up to 200,000 Baht.

12. Do not infringe on anyone's copyright, whether it be text, music, images, or videos.
13. Sharing images of others, such as greetings or well-wishes, is not illegal as long as they are not used for commercial purposes or profit.
