How to Kill Your Dreams Unknowingly
Do you remember your childhood dreams? The aspirations you had to achieve something significant in your life? I have dreams too; I want to be a Super Smart Penguin, a friend who can provide the best advice to everyone regarding online car insurance and safe driving. But believe it or not, only a few people actually fulfill their dreams. Let's explore what gradually kills your dreams so we can revive them.
1. Believing in Overnight Success
The idea of overnight success is a myth in the IT business, where people make huge profits from just a few export deals, or musicians who join world-famous bands. These stories are common on social media. Some even sell courses or seminars and make a fortune. However, what we don't see is the countless attempts and years of practice they went through before reaching this point. Everything in this world is interconnected.
2. Believing Others Have the Answers for You
While it's true that we need to learn and practice to gain expertise, we can acquire this knowledge from those with experience or who have succeeded. However, all this knowledge is just a foundation. We must find the best path for ourselves to succeed in a way that others cannot easily replicate, ensuring our survival in business. Therefore, I recommend listening to your own voice about what suits you best. Asking questions to gain knowledge is just the starting point.
3. Deciding to Stay Stagnant
If we continuously develop ourselves, rest assured that you will be better than you were last month or last year. You are the one who assesses your own value. As mentioned, don't undervalue yourself too much. It's okay to be humble, but don't underestimate your abilities. Always set challenging goals for yourself because stepping out of your comfort zone requires both courage and capability.
4. Believing Mistakes Are Others' Faults
This point might sound familiar, as we often encounter it in the workplace. Excuses like lacking funds, not being ready, or not being skilled enough are the main reasons we fail to take action. When problems arise, we blame others instead of seeking the real cause and solving the issue. If you do this, you'll keep facing the same problems. The only solution is to learn and fight.
5. Believing the Most Important Thing Is Just to Dream
If you don't take action, you will never succeed. If you don't start moving, you'll never reach your destination. Simply dreaming won't turn your dreams into reality. What matters most is taking action with determination and perseverance. I've never seen anyone reach their goals just by dreaming.
If you've found your dream, you're very lucky. The next step is to find a way to make it a reality. Then, let's strive for success. I'm rooting for you! For those who haven't found their dreams yet, don't be disheartened; let's try doing something.
