The latest iPhone model from Apple has been launched, and many are left in shock by the price of the iPhone X, which marks the 10th anniversary of the iPhone, priced at 35,000-40,000 Baht ($999). While this may not be the official price in Thailand, fans are speculating accordingly. Some are even considering selling a kidney just to afford it. It makes one wonder, how much do you need to earn to comfortably buy this iPhone X?

Today, we won't discuss the features of the iPhone X, as that’s not really the focus of TerraBKK. Instead, we will talk about those who have plenty of money and want to buy the iPhone X for 35,000-40,000 Baht. Let’s look at condos available for rent in the price range of 35,000-40,000 Baht per month. Just one month’s rent could easily buy you an iPhone X. If you rent it out for a year, you could even buy an iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and an iPhone X (talk about being rich).

According to a survey by TerraBKK, condos that can be rented for at least 35,000-40,000 Baht per month are primarily located in two areas: “Sukhumvit (Mid to Upper) and Silom-Sathorn”. We have selected 10 projects that match the rental price of the iPhone X.

1. The Waterford Diamond

This project is located in Sukhumvit Soi 30/1 and has been around for 18 years, which means the building design may not be very modern. The room sizes are quite spacious, starting at 50 sq.m. Being an older project, the resale prices for second-hand units are not too high, around 6-8 million Baht, with rental prices ranging from 30,000-50,000 Baht per month.

2. Siri at Sukhumvit

A project from Sansiri that is 10 years old and located near Thonglor BTS, which was selling for only 85,000 Baht per square meter back then. Fast forward to this year, second-hand units are selling for around 200,000 Baht per square meter, or about 9-15 million Baht, with a minimum rental price of 35,000 Baht per month.

3. The Room Sukhumvit 21

A project by Land & Houses located about 1 km from Sukhumvit MRT. This project is relatively new, around 4-5 years old, with second-hand unit prices ranging from 8 million to 20 million Baht. The minimum rental price is 35,000 Baht per month, going up to 90,000 Baht per month... you could buy 2 iPhone Xs!

4. Noble 09 Ruamrudee

A project from Noble Development located near Chit Lom BTS, right in the city center. Finding new projects in such a location is quite challenging now. This project was completed 8 years ago, with second-hand unit prices around 8-15 million Baht and rental prices between 35,000-55,000 Baht per month.

5. The Address Chidlom

An old high-end project from AP located in Soi Somkid, which connects to Chit Lom BTS. Back in the day, this was considered a top-tier project. Currently, second-hand unit prices are around 8-11 million Baht, with rental prices ranging from 35,000-50,000 Baht per month.

6. Q Asoke

Just completed a little over 2 years ago, Q Asoke from QHouse is located next to Phetchaburi MRT and close to expressway access. This was one of the first projects before the Ratchada-Asoke area boomed in the last 2-3 years. Currently, second-hand units are selling for around 7-15 million Baht, with rental prices between 30,000-50,000 Baht per month.

7. Wind Sukhumvit 23

A project from Major Development that sold for less than 100,000 Baht per square meter 10 years ago. Although it may not be right on a major road or near BTS/MRT, it is still centrally located and convenient, close to Srinakharinwirot University. Currently, second-hand units are selling for around 7-12 million Baht, with rental prices around 30,000-35,000 Baht per month.

8. Rhythm Sukhumvit 44/1

A secondary top-tier project from AP located right next to Phra Khanong BTS, with the entrance right at the project's doorstep. Previously, Phra Khanong was not as hot a location as it is now. Currently, second-hand unit prices are between 5-10 million Baht, with rental prices reaching 30,000-50,000 Baht per month.

9. The Address Sukhumvit 28

Another quality project from AP that was considered a Super Premium project about 5-6 years ago. This project is located about 300 meters from Phrom Phong BTS. With such a Super Premium status, the materials used are luxurious, making the resale prices for second-hand units quite high, around 10-20 million Baht, while rental prices can go up to 35,000-70,000 Baht per month.

10. The River

Finally, we have a luxurious project by Raimon Land along the Chao Phraya River, which has become a landmark of the Taksin Bridge. The beauty of this project is the breathtaking view of the Chao Phraya River. The resale prices for second-hand units are also high, ranging from 10-30 million Baht, but the rental prices can easily cover the cost of an iPhone, starting at 40,000 Baht per month and going up to around 110,000 Baht per month.
