It ranks among the top cancers causing death in countries with high obesity rates, such as the United States and Australia, and Thailand may soon follow suit. Lisa Guru consulted experts to share tips on how to prevent this disease.

6 Basic Health Guidelines to Prevent Colon Cancer

  • Do not smoke and avoid alcohol
  • Exercise regularly
  • Limit the intake of fatty meats or unhealthy proteins
  • Maintain a healthy weight
  • Eat plenty of high-fiber fruits and vegetables
  • Consume more fish

Additionally, doctors recommend getting up from your desk every 2 hours, as prolonged sitting can increase the risk of this type of cancer by nearly 10 percent.
