No Need to Wait 50 or 1,000 Years: These Townhomes Will Become 'Homes by the Skytrain' Within 5 Years!
When we think about real estate trends from 20 years ago, it’s hard to imagine the explosion of condominiums, especially along the various skytrain lines where every square inch is claimed by towering condos. TERRABKK believes that the current condominium market, which reflects real demand from actual buyers, is dwindling. This year seems more favorable for condominium investors. However, looking towards the future, it appears that townhomes in or near the city are making a comeback, particularly projects that are strategically located near future skytrain stations (of course, townhomes adjacent to the current skytrain lines are almost impossible to find). TERRABKK invites readers to take a time machine into the future to explore which projects are worth reserving and will become 'homes by the skytrain' in the future.
Blue Line (Bang Sue - Thaphra - Hua Lamphong - Bang Khae)
Let's start with the extension of the blue line skytrain, which is set to begin operations in 2019, opening in phases. The first section to open will be from 'Hua Lamphong' to 'Bang Khae', followed by 'Bang Sue' to 'Thaphra', and finally 'Bang Khae' to 'Phutthamonthon Sai 4'. Once fully operational, this blue line extension will connect with the MRT or the current Bang Sue-Hua Lamphong subway line, and there will be a station at Bang Wa that connects with the BTS green line, making this route quite extensive. Now, let's discuss which townhome projects are located along the blue line.
Pruksa Ville Phetkasem 91
Hunsa Town Phetkasem 81
Green Line (Mo Chit - Saphan Mai - Kukot) / (Bearing - Samut Prakan)
This is an extension from the current BTS line, divided into two sections: the northern side will extend from the current Mo Chit station along Phahonyothin Road to the end at Lam Luk Ka, known as the Mo Chit-Kukot extension, which will open in 2020. The eastern side connects from Bearing along Sukhumvit Road towards Samut Prakan, known as the Bearing-Samut Prakan extension, which will open in 2018. There are two townhome projects located along this green line extension:
The Cube Town Lumlukka
The Canvas Sukhumvit-Samrong
Light Red Line (Bang Sue - Taling Chan)
This extension connects with both the purple line and the current blue line MRT. This line is already completed; it just awaits the arrival of the trains, which are set to officially begin operations in 2020. This line runs parallel to the Si Rat Expressway, providing convenience for those living in suburban areas like Nonthaburi. Currently, this area is still a community of single-family homes and townhouses, but earlier this year, a new townhome project was launched adjacent to the light red line:
Ban Klang Muang Pinklao - Charan
Orange Line (Taling Chan - Min Buri)
The long-awaited orange line has finally reached a conclusion, with construction set to begin this year. This line will intersect with the current MRT at the Cultural Center station and is divided into two sections: 'Taling Chan - Cultural Center' and 'Cultural Center - Min Buri', running through the heart of the city from the eastern side of Bangkok to Thonburi. The orange line will connect with existing MRT lines, the dark and light red lines, the purple line, and the green BTS line. Those eyeing the orange line area will need to be patient, as it is scheduled for completion and operation in 2022. However, purchasing a home in anticipation is not a bad idea, and we found one project located next to the orange line:
Nalin Grand Avenue
