Portfolio of 16 Stock Gurus at the Beginning of 2017

          When we take an exam, do we want to see what the top scorer answers? Even if we don't copy everything, it's still good to check our answers against theirs. In fact, this can be done legally in stock trading. Although the information may be delayed, we might gain some insights. I have compiled the portfolios of 16 famous investors (who are not business owners) based on data from the Stock Exchange as of May 5, 2017.

         

However, it's important to understand that the data may not be up to date because the closing date for most stocks is usually about two months prior. Therefore, these stocks may have already been sold, and some investors may hold other stocks that are less than 0.5% of the company, which the Stock Exchange does not display. The size of each guru's portfolio does not indicate their level of expertise; some may have started with a large amount of capital or have been investing for a long time.

           I do not recommend investing blindly based on this information. We should study in detail what these stocks are about, what their future trends look like, and what their fair prices are. Understanding why these stock gurus invested in these stocks can be beneficial and help us enhance our investment knowledge more than just copying without understanding. Interestingly, the stocks held by each individual do not overlap much, which means each has their own investment strategy. If we want to be a guru like them, we should also develop our own investment approach.
